November 2015[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions. Please mark your edits, such as your recent edits to National Basketball Association, as "minor" only if they are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. —Bagumba (talk) 07:04, 24 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A common editing cycle on Wikipedia is Bold, revert, discuss. You made a bold edit, I reverted and supplied an explanation in the edit summary. While it's OK if you disagreed with my revert, the expectation is that you would have discussed your objection, not to revert—especially with no explanation. Restoring your preferred version is discouraged per Wikipedia's policy on edit warring. Another editor has undid your revert. Please discuss if you want to change consensus. Thanks.—Bagumba (talk) 07:11, 24 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Mexico and soccer[edit]

Responding back on this page, where the conversation started. AquillaXIII wrote:

I reverted it back to football because in this context it is understood that it is association football and not American football. Football is the universal term so I changed it from soccer which is the term used in the United States and Canada. Yes, there are other countries that call it soccer but since this isn't one of those English speaking countries that calls it soccer, it should be football.

The point is that it may be clear to you that when you write "football" you mean soccer, and it is probably clear in Spanish that's what you mean, it isn't clear on the English Wikipedia. There is no reason to remove disambiguation when saying things like "football fans". Tarl N. (discuss) 22:37, 15 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, it is extremely rude to edit another editor's home page, rather than his talk page. Tarl N. (discuss) 22:38, 15 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Edit War[edit]

Please stop the WP:EDITWAR at Major League Soccer. You have tried to make the same edit three times without consensus. Do not revert again, use the talk page instead to discuss and achieve consensus. CUA 27 (talk) 01:10, 24 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Disruptive move[edit]

Hi AquilaXIII, your move of Infiniti M to Infiniti Q70 was against the established consensus. You clearly knew about the discussion, as you opened the request. If you don't agree with the consensus, please create a new discussion on this and try to gain a consensus supporting your point of view. Question for administrator[edit]

<What do I do if there is a disruptive user?>

There is a user who has been reverting changes to the Major League Soccer page after I've made them. I added the capacity to the stadiums in the table since every sports league has them just so that it matches the same formatting as them. He has continued to revert them even after the explanation and it seems to be out of pettiness now. I have gotten support from other users but it still happened. Is there anything I can do?

See WP:BOLD, revert, discuss cycle. If your edits are reverted, the next step is to discuss the issue on the article talk page and try to reach WP:Consensus with other usres. That should usually be possible, but if not there are WP:Dispute resolution processes you can use. The conversation at Talk:Major League Soccer#Teams table may be relevant. Sports teams founding dates[edit]

I ask you kindly to revert all your such edits made over the last day or so. The purpose of that parameter is to link to the article on the team's first season, not a mere announcement. This has been established practice for a long time, and is supported by some (at this point rather old) discussions. As such, none of your "corrections" are themselves correct. If you think the purpose of the parameter should be changed, then you should open a discussion. Unilaterally changing dozens of articles away from an obvious consistent formatting is a bad idea, and you should have discussed first. oknazevad (talk) 14:51, 19 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

There is actually a new discussion going on right now at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Ice Hockey/Archive67#Founded dates in the team infobox again to confirm past discussions. It was triggered of course by all the reverting going on. -DJSasso (talk) 14:53, 19 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on BeIN Sports (USA), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Nomination of BeIN Sports (USA) for deletion[edit]

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/BeIN Sports (USA) until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. The Banner talk 17:27, 15 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Flags in roster boxes[edit]

Hi, I noticed you added flags to the Template:Hanshin Tigers roster. I reverted that edit, and noticed that you have also added them to about ten other Japanese and Korean baseball team templates. I think such flags violates the policy at WP:INFOBOXFLAG. Even though that is about infoboxes, I think it also applies to templates. The players are not representing their country, they are on a professional team. So their nationality is irrelevant. I therefore ask you to consider removing the others you have added. Thanks, AtHomeIn神戸 (talk) 00:14, 28 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Athomeinkobe: I did add the flags to distinguish where the players come from but I don't think they infringe on the policy as seen in the use by other teams in other sports. Granted, I realize that a lot of the Asian teams don't have that many foreign players but I think this applies more to the MLB teams which do. I added them here first though. I realize that not all the players represent their country in an international competition but the same is done in other sports to distinguish a player's nationality as seen in association football, basketball, rugby, hockey and other sports as well. I think it's okay to leave the nationality of a player next to their name on the roster list. AquilaXIII (talk) 18:52, 27 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
My sincere apologies. I made a mistake this morning. I thought you were editing the Template:Hanshin Tigers roster navbox that appears at the bottom of the article. Where that other one appears in the middle of the article, I guess it is ok. But since there are a only 3 or 4 non-Japanese players on each team, I wonder if there is a better way of highlighting it. AtHomeIn神戸 (talk) 06:21, 28 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Athomeinkobe: If there is then by all means make changes to the rosters. Adding flags was the method that I saw being used for teams in different sports so that's why I thought it was better. If you want to revert the changes then that's fine as well, I don't mind. AquilaXIII (talk) 13:40, 1 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Please stop with the flags, it is against consensus.. No other US team rosters use flags and it does violate policy at MOS:FLAG. Spanneraol (talk) 00:14, 2 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The article TappyToon has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Does not meet WP:ORGCRITE, WP:GNG, no in depth coverage in independent reliable sources. Provided sources are all press releases.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. Disputed non-free use rationale for File:CFL 2002 Logo.png[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:CFL 2002 Logo.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

A tag has been placed on Category:Mexican pornography requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Liz Read! Speedy deletion nomination of List of television awards[edit]

Hello, AquilaXIII,

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username DannyS712 and it's nice to meet you :-)

I wanted to let you know that I have tagged List of television awards for deletion, because it doesn't appear to contain any encyclopedic content. You may find our guide for writing quality articles to be extremely informative.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. If the page is already deleted by the time you come across this message and you wish to retrieve the deleted material, please contact the deleting administrator.

For any further query, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|DannyS712}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

List of television awards moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, List of television awards, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Pardon, what is German about jazz? We don't say German piano music. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:29, 8 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Gerda Arendt: You're right but we do say German food, German culture, and German clothing. Since German jazz has distinctions that set it apart from other regional jazz, I think it's important to emphasize that. Also, it was done to align it with the other jazz pages. Hello, AquilaXIII. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "List of television awards".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Stadia controller into Stadia controller. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was copied, attribution is not required. — Diannaa (talk) 15:14, 5 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing. You have committed countless acts of disruptive editing over time. Especially in the last month and the last few days, many of your edits have been aggressively pointless or wrong. You have needlessly wasted the time and effort of many volunteers. You do not understand or accept the terms of consensus and collegiate conduct. I'm adding this warning to everybody else's warnings as seen above on this Talk page and very clearly in a number of edit messages, because I'm specifically underscoring the fact that you can and should be blocked for this behavior at any time. You should stop editing altogether until you understand this. See WP:3RR WP:BRD and I actually don't have them all memorized because I just don't tend to go trampling content and consensus on somebody else's privately owned website as if I own the place.Smuckola(talk) 06:16, 8 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Split of Hololive Production[edit]

It seems like you entirely missed Diannaa's earlier warning so I'd like to reiterate: Copying within Wikipedia, even in the case of article splits, as you did with this edit on Cover Corporation, requires attribution. Not providing attribution is a violation of Wikipedia's CC BY-SA 3.0 and GDFL licenses. Moreover, it seems like you split the article because "there exists one in Japanese", and while ja:Hololive Production exists, it does not assert an article's notability on the English Wikipedia. The content of this article would have been fine within the article of the related topic (that being Hololive Production). Before making splits like these in the future where the notability of the article isn't clearly established by reliable secondary sources, discuss the split first on the article talk page. Hello, AquilaXIII,

Right now, Category:Lo-fi musicians is the category Wikipedia is using. If you look at Category:Lofi musicians, you can see that it is a redirect category and therefore should be empty. If you want to change the main category for this style of musicians to be Lofi instead of Lo-fi, please nominate the category for a rename at WP:CFD for either a regular discussion or a speedy rename. All of the instructions are there. Please do not put articles in the redirect category because they will just need to be moved out of it. A rename is the way you need to go. Thank you. Liz Read!
