The Signpost: 2 March 2024[edit]

Hello, Bilby. Thank you for your recent edits to this article. I would like to draw your attention to this edit, where Jamesthepilot has posted similar material again. It looks like a POV rant to me, but I won't edit the article myself, because as a member of GSoW my judgement may not be impartial. I would be grateful if you take a look at it, and use your own judgement about what you think is appropriate. Gronk Oz (talk) 23:09, 5 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for letting me know - sorry that I missed that. Fortunately it has been taken care of. :) - Bilby (talk) 23:17, 5 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Howdy![edit]

Could you check out @Adarshalphons9's edit to Adarsh Alphons? He removed a COI template you added, and I'd just like your opinion. Cheers! 🇺🇲JayCubby✡ plz edit my user pg! Talk 14:20, 18 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for opening this discussion. Unless there's a provable conflict, it would not be fair to go about marking random wiki pages with these conflict templates. The person marking templates as such should also address the larger question - are the contributions made up/ fabricated or are the contents independently verifiable? I would assert that all content mentioned can be corroborated via a legitimate publications. Please feel free to search on any search engine you prefer. I will not comment on article content, however another user seems to have been in contact with you way back in 2018. That implies at the very least an instance of COI editing, regardless of factual accuracy. 🇺🇲JayCubby✡ plz edit my user pg! Talk 14:33, 18 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have continued the discussion on @Adarshalphons9's page. 🇺🇲JayCubby✡ plz edit my user pg! Talk 14:35, 18 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for pointing that out! Very interesting. I have no idea who this is. When I click on their profile, it goes to a blank page. Adarshalphons9 (talk) 14:36, 18 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Whom are you referring to? 🇺🇲JayCubby✡ plz edit my user pg! Talk 14:38, 18 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Ah. See User_talk:Shaheba_Sultana#October_2018_2 specifically "So what can I do now? I gave much information whatever I know to verify this article! And Adarsh himself gave me his all information to make this page. People want this article in google so that they can search easily! Help me please! Thank you Shaheba Sultana (talk) 12:51 pm, 25 October 2018, Thursday (UTC−4)" 🇺🇲JayCubby✡ plz edit my user pg! Talk 14:42, 18 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Ethics Workshop Participation Request[edit]

Hi! We're conducting a series of participatory workshops with Wikipedia editors, administrators, researchers, and Wikimedia employees to discuss, and hopefully improve, Wikipedia's structures for online research (see meta research page). In an effort to get the right people in the room to discuss these topics, I'm reaching out here to see if you are interested in participating as an active administrator. We'd work with you to ensure this workshop can fit into your schedule, but are targeting end of April/early May. I'm happy to discuss any of these topics further here or on our talk page. Query[edit]

Hello, Bilby,

I was deleting a broken redirect to Gondwana Ecotour an article you deleted on grounds of CSD G5. This is confusing to me because the page creator is not a block-evading sockpuppet and the article wasn't tagged for speedy deletion. Can you tell me who the sockmaster is for this editor? Because they aren't blocked on any grounds. Thank you for any information you can provide to clear this up. Liz Read! Talk! 02:55, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Liz! The author is a sock of User:Eyoab based on off-wiki evidence. I am passing that on to paid-en, but they tend to take a while to respond, and as there is no doubt of the connection I deleted it as part of a broader cleanup of multiple accounts in the sockfarm. - Bilby (talk) 03:32, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
