Administrators' newsletter – October 2019

News and updates for administrators from the past month (September 2019).

Guideline and policy news

  • Following a discussion, a new criterion for speedy category renaming was added: C2F: One eponymous article, which applies if the category contains only an eponymous article or media file, provided that the category has not otherwise been emptied shortly before the nomination. The default outcome is an upmerge to the parent categories.

Technical news

  • As previously noted, tighter password requirements for Administrators were put in place last year. Wikipedia should now alert you if your password is less than 10 characters long and thus too short.

Arbitration

Miscellaneous

  • The Community Tech team has been working on a system for temporarily watching pages, and welcomes feedback.

Good afternoon

(talk page stalker) Hi Hamidmsi and welcome to Wikipedia!
You can't request that ClueBot NG runs on a specific page I'm afraid. It works on the probability that an edit is vandalism, you can find out more about how it judges edits here. I've had a look at that page and, although I'm no expert on the subject, I can't see any obvious vandalism.
ClueBot NG does catch a lot of vandalism but inevitably it will miss some. This is why you can also revert edits. You can find out more about reverting edits here.
Finally, unless it's urgent, you should use ClueBot NG's talk page to ask questions about the bot. I hope this helps you!-- 5 albert square (talk) 16:12, 27 October 2019 (UTC)
