Incorrect claim of external link to self-published book[edit]

Hi! In one of your edits to Caterina Sforza, you removed a link to http://www.kleio.org/en/books/caterina_symbols/, with an edit summary of "emoved external link, as it was a direct link to sell a self published book." However, that was inaccurate & I reverted it. The link itself cites a symposium program, Caterina Sforza – 500° Anniversario Della Morte (28 Maggio 1509), pag. 77 - 85, Atti del Convegno di studi e della Tavola rotonda internationale, Forlì, 16 maggio 2009, a cura di Silvia Arfelli, Gilberto Giorgetti. You can view the bibliographic record for this at http://scoprirete.bibliotecheromagna.it/SebinaOpac/.do?idopac=RAV1752121, then choosing the Dettagli tab. You removed cited material. I oppose your removal of that material from the article. It came from an article that was published in a journal. The woman has also been interviewed by various news organizations. Bookworm857158367 (talk) 00:20, 12 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Great job on editing this article! I agree with your observations regarding the Press Section, and so noted on Laramie's TP. I removed the section and the fan site tag. and the copy edit tag. Do you think the article really needs a tag for additional references? It looks good as is, IMO. Thanks, Tribe of Tiger Let's Purrfect! 23:10, 23 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Referencing[edit]

Posted Content added & reference correctly & have had the same couple of people deleting my information consistently. Then have had contributors who apparently have been around awhile, thankfully, correct what these people continually delete & basically put back what I started with. I just started doing this the past few months so I admit I'm still learning but don't know how to stop these people from messing my information fairly regularly. At this point, everyone is confusing me. What are rules regarding people changing information that is validated in references? Thank You!(2PacKidada (talk) 07:53, 13 July 2018 (UTC))[reply]

Manjari fadnis[edit]

you removed promotional language from the article Manjari fadnis but not the template that lies over it creating page issues , Please have a recheck for fresh edits , also any such wording exist in context of her relevant or successful films and not the subject itself Crispgatoglitz (talk) 20:21, 6 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks![edit]

Thanks for doing some checking into Win This Record. After reading the response at the Teahouse I've decided not to do any more on this album. While I understand the reason behind this subject I don't agree with it. My feeling is any artist should/could have all of their albums available as articles here at WP. I think this is especially valid if said album is mentioned in the article for a particular artist. I've seen many other articles of the same quality as the two I mentioned in my original question and get that their existence does not provide a mandate - or template - to be followed as policy. No worries. It's not a "battle" I want to fight. Again, thank you for the time you spent looking into the matter. I sincerely appreciate your effort! Editing[edit]

you cannot just edit out references to someones page just because you dont like the content. this would also be a breach of wiki policy. do you have a vested interest... are you employed by someone to do this? I have reported you to wiki — Preceding unsigned comment added by Majikalex32 (talkcontribs) 07:14, 27 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for clearing that up. How about you add the references to her recent personal life how she was arrested, charged and convicted for drunk driving in November 2017, and how she was once again arrested, charged and convicted in early 2018 for assault, assault police resist arrest and disorderly conduct. And whilst you at it, delete the reference to her receiving $250,000 settlement from James Packer because her saying this in a media report doesn’t necessarily make it truth. Instead of being a sugary feel good story that barely represents her life filled with unicorns and fairy dust You seem to like to be thorough. Looking forward to reading these updates to her page. It’s relevent information I’m sure you can find good sources to reference.

Sorry, but who cares? This is a tidbit from an entertainment page. Drmies (talk) 15:31, 27 September 2018 (UTC) Who cares about Bill Cosby going to jail? Who cares about Phil spectre arrested for murder? What a cop out. This is meant to be a discussion about accurately and fairly editing this page and posting relevent and up to date information about a persons life. Who cares if she worked in health care who cares if she converted to Judaism? Tell the whole story not just half of it. I have given you opportunity to edit this page as you profess to being a wiki dungeon master level 37.

...and what about the reference to her eating disorder. Surely Woman’s Day isn’t a reputable source either. She does do most of her interviews in tabloid mags. I notice you haven’t deleted that reference. Just mine. What’s with the bias?

Living in Toorak working in the health care sector. Another reference from the reputable mag Woman’s Day Majikalex32 (talk) 16:55, 27 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If you continue to show bias when editing Kate Fischer’s wiki bio I will be opening a dispute resolution and voicing my concerns you have a vested interest in her page. I love the way for instance that you add 500+ words to her bio and then sneakily remove the reference to how much she sold the Bondi unit for, and that she spent 22 months in a shelter for homeless women. I will be monitoring her page closely snd if you continue with your dubious behaviour I will escalate the matter. Majikalex32 (talk) 14:30, 16 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent editing history at Kate Fischer shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

RE Edit on Rajneesh[edit]

Thanks, for your reply , Curdle.

I guess if the text is too long, then I could summarise and shorten it down.

I can tell you that, the editor of the article has been a bit of a historian in his own right, with a keen interest in the actual history of Rajneesh , and the history of sannyas.

He has written many articles and always encouraged balanced, debate among all the issues in Osho`s lifetime, including those that were controversial, or that others tried to ignore.

He always wanted everyone to have their say, no matter whether their opinions on Osho or his movement around him was negative or positive, and was a keen advocate of free speech.

He was independant from the official Osho organisation, who were not in favour of some of his articles.

So, he was a well balanced journalist, who was always open to hearing everyones viewpoints.

Therefore, I can tell you he was a reliable source.

Here is the page again http://sannyasnews.org/now/archives/1899

No, Eternity5090, sannyasnews.org is definitely not a reliable source by Wikipedia's standards. It is a self-published source. It does not meet the standards described in Identifying reliable sources or our core content policy of Verifiability. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 21:04, 30 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Daisy Clover rock band[edit]

Hi Curdle! Thank you so much for your assistance! Yes well you're correct, the time line simply doesn't add up does it. My father was the one who was feeding me a lot of the information. As I have mentioned, he was the drummer of the band. Now he may have it wrong, this was 50 years ago and he is almost 70 years old. Perhaps the band was reformed in 1971 not 1970 and from sometime from 1971 to somewhere in the mid 70s Chrissy was in the band. My dad did say she was only 14 when she was with the band, so that would've been 1973. My dad, Nick Kenos and Colin deluca were not in the band at that stage. This can all be amended, that's why it's simply a draft for now. Now as for my sources, I believe that they aren't too dissimilar to the sources/references provided with the Wikipedia article on the band Town Criers, and yet they are uploaded to Wiki?.. Yes I have about half a dozen newspaper/magazine articles from the late 1960s, the only problem is most of them don't specify the dates and which newspaper/magazine. My dad is able to advise the name of the newspaper/magazine but not quite the dates. Do you think that will be a problem? Also, what am I to do with them exactly? Am I to add some of the information from each article to the draft, and then somehow upload it to the reference section? also, wouldn't that be copyright infringement, just like the issue with the photo? I have a couple of private photos of the band which I can safety use. But this is becoming way more difficult than I imagined so I probably wont bother with the photo for now. I just want to see if i can get something approved, something similar to Town Criers article, as they were a similar band of that time. My dad actually has this book https://www.bookdepository.com/Whos-Who-Australian-Rock-Chris-Spencer/9781865038919 and it has a little info about the band. It has an email address which i might email them and see what info or evidence they can help for this Wiki article, what do you think? I have spoken to my dad and he is still in contact with Greg Hunt, but he apparently he isn't well and isn't able to talk properly. Apparently he can still sing the song 'Tell Me' some how! LOL.. My dad is going to contact him and he's wife and see what information they can assist with. See if we can clarify the time line of when the band actually ended. If or when this is actually approved, are you able to explain to be the exact process? I'm not sure how all this works... Thanks again for all your assistance on this matter!:)Thegman81 (talk) 23:28, 23 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The video od Sam in the suiside vest is my interlectual property as is the other one in the other newspaper, it just dont say so, lol. Spiceheads get's a mention in the Sunday Times story and one in the Sun, however another Wikipedia page editor told me that I could not Cite to the SUn, lol Many thanks Howard

I am so sorry to pester you again, but you have been so helpfull and the work you have done looks great. I have been confronted with this now: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Taylor4567#File%3ASpiceheads_logo.jpg

I messaged and requested a copy of this logo image from Richard, who run's Spiceheads, I told him it was for somthing I was writing about him, but did not tell him what, I hope that was OK, as I do not want to offend Wikipedia? He sent me a copy of this image, which he had downloaded from his page, having put it there in the first place and gave me the right to use it. I do hope that is OK, if it is not could he join Wikipedia and upload it himself if the article is finnaly published? Many thanks Howard

Hi, I have tried several times to sort this psge out, lol but it keeps getting rejected and the photograph has been removed. I have now put new citations on it in a hope it will be approved. Pritty please woth suggar on top, if you get time, can you help me and connect the new citations again,

Many thanks for your kind suggestions, I have now added more references and I hope the deletion threat will be removed. Please make a suggestion to 'keep' the article as I feel strongly AD deserves an entry and I am very surprised that this has not happened yet. Mandarinrobotic I had already voted keep before I messaged you; someone else has too, (and provided a few more journal article refs at AFD-can you get access to Jstor/Paywall articles? if you can't, I might be able to help you there) SlaterSteven seems to think there's enough now, so its looking hopeful. Curdle (talk) 13:39, 1 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, I used to have access to JSTOR, not any more though, so if you can add more refs or any other way to keep the post 'alive' I would be very grateful. Best wishes Mandarinrobotic (talk) 14:00, 1 December 2019 (UTC)MandarinroboticMandarinrobotic (talk) 14:00, 1 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
HelloCurdle many thanks for helping to improve the Drexler article. I am keen to remove the ADF box now that the notability has been agreed. SlaterSteven says it is still open and needs to be closed. I have no experience with this yet, who can close it? Can it be you for example? Please let me know, many thanks.Mandarinrobotic (talk) 14:23, 3 December 2019 (UTC)MandarinroboticMandarinrobotic (talk) 14:23, 3 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Mandarinrobotic I don't think I would be allowed to close, as I voted for Keep; it might look a bit odd, especially as this would be an "early close"; AFDs usually stay open/run for at least 7 days, so everyone has a chance to say something about it. There are experienced editors and admins that hang round AFD and close, or relist them after 7 days. They only relist if the argument is still ongoing, or its difficult to judge consensus. Arthur Drexler has two keeps, more refs, no deletes and the nominator has said they are now convinced there is notability, so I'm pretty sure it will be closed as Keep. Whatever you do, do not remove anything or try and close it yourself, - that never ends well! I know its hard, but try and be patient- at most, it will only be another three days, even if noone else closes it early. Curdle (talk) 14:34, 4 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

A blast from the past....[edit]

Hello again! An article popped up on my watchlist, which has lead me to remember a "situation" that occurred @ March 2018 involving Laramie1960. She was a passionate person who was editing Juliette Benzoni and related articles. She ran afoul of our *rules*, etc, and took it very personally.

You, MarchJuly and I spent some time working with this worthwhile, absolutely good faith editor, who had great difficulty understanding WP copyright rules, encyclopedic tone, etc., etc. I recently reread our various exchanges on her talk, which lead me to remember our mutual involvement.

However, you did the lion's share of editing the various articles, chasing down refs, etc., which was not an easy task. You devoted a great deal of patient time and effort to assisting both Laramie and WP, and I really enjoyed working with you in my admittedly minor capacity. Thank you for providing this experience, and the pleasure of "teamwork".

Your user page is a feast for the eye, how lovely! Hope you are well.... Best wishes, and thanks. Sincerely, Tribe of Tiger Let's Purrfect! 00:27, 25 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

what a nice surprise! awhile ago I had a similar blast from the past and was going to leave you a message, but it appeared you had gone AWOL, so its good to see you are editing again @Tribe of Tiger: !:) Yes, I do remember; and was going to thank you for all the help! Just reread bits now, in fact-I recall breathing a sigh of relief after you agreed with the removal of the press section -I had been so worried about offending her by taking chunks of the article out, and having your endorsement really helped. I also remember edit conflicting and messing up some of your edits on at least one occasion, so I'm glad you enjoyed working with me as much as I did with you. Curdle (talk) 15:05, 1 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Oh my, I do recall the press section! It was a tricky thing, to turn a rapturous (sp?) fangirl piece into an encyclopedic article, without wounding the tender heart/ego of of dear Laramie. I know that we both "liked" her, and had the basic human kindness to treat her with respect and understanding. Good karma for both of us, I believe.
I am not sure if it was a language or "legal culture" problem.... but trying to get her understand that we could not use her website (which displayed the "images" of the refs) was a major challenge. Whew!
Per AWOL. I tend to get on an editing spree @ once a year. So, if you wish to leave me a msg when I am inactive, don't worry, "I'll be baackk..." I still read WP between times, so my little bell will light up, and I will see it. It is lovely to connect with you again! Take care, Tribe of Tiger Let's Purrfect! 22:50, 2 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hyphens?[edit]

Hey there, re: this am I nuts, or should runner-up and co-hosting have hyphens in them?[5][6]. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 17:12, 30 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Cyphoidbomb Oops quite probably yes, if Cambridge says so:) Sorry, thought I had put them back in there, but must have forgotten, or something screwed up my edit. There were a few other things I was sure I had changed- I was using two edit windows at one stage to check edit history...I'll fix it. Curdle (talk) 17:41, 30 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I took care of it. Also, I was erring on the side of social caution in case you knew something I didn't. Thanks mate. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 17:45, 30 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Curdle, wondering if you could take a look at your edit. Thank you for your time. Lotje (talk) 15:45, 27 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Lotje I took another look- what's the matter? I removed the freakapedia ref, because it its a wiki and so not a reliable source, as per WP:UGC.Curdle (talk) 23:50, 27 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Indeeed Curdle, now it is gone, sometimes I think ghosts are at work on the different Wikipedia projects. No freaky ones but  !!!!! Lotje (talk) 06:48, 28 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Quick Thanks[edit]

Hey Curdle, I was the one that requested some fixes for Pratiksha_Apurv. I just want to give you a double heaping of thanks as it looks like you both improved it, and have KEPT it improved. Its minor, but its people like you that make this stuff so much better. Thanks! 2620:72:0:1D1C:A11C:1744:4893:83EA (talk) 16:50, 24 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Trevor Scott FitzGibbon - possible mixup of persons with same name on Deletion page[edit]

Hi Curdle, I noticed the name Michael Levine in your comments on the deletion you name the Michael Levine (publicist) when I have found user Michaellevineassistant to be affiliated with the composer Michael A. Levine including contributions to the composer's page. Two people, both Los Angeles based, might have crossed paths, but are different people.
