AFC

Thanks for helping out at AFC. If you can try to class the articles when you paste the WPAFC template onto the talk page it saves time later on. For example {{WPAFC|class=redirect}} for redirects. Cheers, MSGJ (talk) 22:08, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

Motto of the day

Hello, I notice you're using one of the {{motd}} templates, run by Wikipedia:Motto of the day. You may have noticed that some of the mottos recently have been followed by a date from 2006, or on occasion simply "Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia". The reason for this is that Motto of the day is in some very serious need of help. Participation in the project, which has never been especially high, has dropped considerably over this past summer, to the point we have had several days where no motto was scheduled to appear at all. Over the past several weeks, I've been the only editor scheduling mottos at all, but there aren't enough comments on some of these mottos to justify their use. If we do not get some help - and soon - your daily mottos will stop. In order for us to continue updating these templates for you, we need your help.

When you get a chance between your normal editing, could you stop by our nominations page and leave a few comments on some of the mottos there, especially those that do not have any comments yet? This works very simply; you read a motto, decide whether or not you like it, and post your opinion just below the motto. That's it - no experience required, just an idea of what you personally like and what you feel reflects Wikipedia and its community. If you do have past experience with the project, then please close some of the older nominations once they've got a decent consensus going. There are directions on the nominations page on how to do this.

If you have any questions, please let me know, or post on the project's talk page. I'm looking forward to reading your comments on the suggested mottos, and any additional suggestions you'd like to make. Until then, happy editing! Hersfold (t/a/c) 02:52, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

AFC submissions

Noticed your help at AFC. You may be interested in reading the documentation of {{AFC submission}} (the instructions for AFC reveiwers is in sore need of updating, and at some point I'll get around to it...). It can save you quite a few keystrokes. Cheers. Someguy1221 (talk) 04:43, 25 September 2008 (UTC)

Last Chaos

Hi Ember, regarding the Last Chaos stub, do you think you are able to address the issues mentioned in Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Last Chaos (specifically WP:N and WP:V)? Marasmusine (talk) 09:28, 1 October 2008 (UTC)

What's there is fine for WP:V, but not for WP:N guidelines (a directory, an official website, some user-contributed reviews.) Well, I'm not going to take it straight back to AfD, let's see how it develops for a bit and I'll keep my eyes out for any substantial coverage from a good source. Thanks, Marasmusine (talk) 13:59, 1 October 2008 (UTC)

Hi Ember, it's been a week, so I've taken Last Chaos to AfD at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Last Chaos (2nd nomination), if you'd care to make any comments. Thanks, Marasmusine (talk) 11:18, 8 October 2008 (UTC)

AfC news

Dear AfC participant,

  1. Msgj and Tnxman307 are organising the AfC challenge! It's a little competition to help improve some of the articles created through AfC and we are hoping that everyone will get involved. For level 1, you just need to bring a stub up to Start-class. Level 2 is improving a Start-class article to C-class. And so on. To get involved or for more information please see the competition page.
  2. Those of you who haven't reviewed an article recently might not have noticed the new process that was implemented this year. Reviewing articles is now more enjoyable than ever :) You might like to give it a try. All articles waiting for review are in Category:Pending Afc requests. (Please read the updated instructions.)
  3. Please consider adding {{AFC status}} to your userpage to keep track of the number of articles waiting for review. At the time of writing we are officially backlogged, so help is needed!
  4. There is currently a proposal to bring the Images for upload process under the umbrella of WikiProject Articles for creation. The rationale is that both processes are designed to allow unregistered users to take part more fully in Wikipedia, and partipants in each process can probably help each other.

If you no longer wish to receive messages from WikiProject Articles for creation, please remove your name from this list. Thank you.
