IRT Flushing Line

I love what you have done with the IRT Flushing Line article. There is tons of information on the history of the line that is not on the page, and this is a project that I have wanted to tackle for some time. I am starting to rewrite some sections of the article, and add information here: User:Kew Gardens 613/sandbox 6. A large section should be written about its impact on the development of Queens, more information should be included on its relation to the Dual Contracts, more background information on the Steinway Tunnels should be looked into, and more details and citations for modern developments would also be nice. This article definitely has GA potential. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, --Kew Gardens 613 (talk) 01:09, 2 October 2017 (UTC)

Thanks. I agree, it can and should probably be improved to GA. There is info on the early development of that section of Queens in the Queensboro Corporation article. I'll help when I can. epicgenius 01:14, 2 October 2017 (UTC)
I have never seen that article. Thanks.--Kew Gardens 613 (talk) 01:21, 2 October 2017 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for October 12

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Pelham Bay Park, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages PGA and Football field (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Bronx Victory Column

I tweaked your redirect as the "the" seemed to break the anchor. See if it works for you now? StarM 03:13, 14 October 2017 (UTC)

@Star Mississippi: Yes, that seems to work now. Thanks for the fix. epicgenius 15:06, 14 October 2017 (UTC)
NP. Wasn't sure if it was an issue on my end or with the actual redirect but glad it works universally now. StarM 16:23, 14 October 2017 (UTC)

Empire State Building

Hi Epicgenius. Did you really mean to remove the entire "In popular culture" section? Some of that content seems quite noteworthy. Among other things, the removal has stranded mentions of Fay Wray and King Kong, leaving them devoid of context. Some of the other film and literature mentions also seem worth keeping. RivertorchFIREWATER 15:58, 22 October 2017 (UTC)

@Rivertorch: I split these off to Empire State Building in popular culture. I'll add a condensed version back (maybe a 1-2 paragraph summary), because I am cleaning up the article greatly and want to improve it to GA or FA status soon. epicgenius 16:01, 22 October 2017 (UTC)
I see. That's cool. I thought that might be it, but couldn't figure out why the whole section is gone. Were you thinking about putting the summary in its own section with one of those "main article" links? That would make the link to Empire State Building in popular culture more prominent. RivertorchFIREWATER 16:27, 22 October 2017 (UTC)
@Rivertorch: Yes. In fact, I'm working on adding back the section. It should be up by tomorrow. epicgenius 16:49, 22 October 2017 (UTC)

Requesting pushpin maps of places

I'd like for someone to make pushpin maps of Houston and the surrounding counties. Where do I go to have them created?

Many thanks! WhisperToMe (talk) 22:42, 25 October 2017 (UTC)

@WhisperToMe: WT:Maps is a good place to start. You can also ask Wikipedia:Graphics Lab/Map workshop, which makes the location maps but isn't very active. epicgenius 00:07, 26 October 2017 (UTC)

DYK for AirTrain JFK

On 27 October 2017, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article AirTrain JFK, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that AirTrain JFK (vehicle pictured), an airport rail link in New York City, took almost 30 years to plan? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/AirTrain JFK. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, AirTrain JFK), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
