July 2016[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a message letting you know that one or more of your recent edits to Tony Randazzo has been undone by an automated computer program called ClueBot NG.

Thank you. ClueBot NG (talk) 06:45, 4 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Tony Randazzo a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. --Cameron11598 (Talk) 08:30, 4 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

information Note: I already asked an administrator to fix it, so no need to worry about it. But for future reference try to use the move function instead. --Cameron11598 (Talk) 08:39, 4 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
information Note: I also just noticed your cut and paste move of Richard Umbers I asked the same administrator to fix that one as well. Just a note but moves like this may lead to WP:CIR Issues being raised. --Cameron11598 (Talk) 08:46, 4 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Climate data[edit]

Hello, it's great that you're interested in the weather, but please don't add recent data to articles that hasn't been quality-controlled, like you did at Camden, New South Wales. If it's not in the pages whose titles start with "Climate statistics", it hasn't been properly checked for quality yet. Also those pages are far better for climate data tables than the newer monthly data pages. Graham87 07:57, 24 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:June Nixon[edit]

Hello, Hymnodist.2004. It has been over six months since you last edited your Articles for Creation draft article submission, "June Nixon".

In accordance with our policy that Articles for Creation is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. 1989 (talk) 07:16, 16 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for April 19[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Patsy Ford Simms, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Swahili. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Please sign your talk page posts[edit]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

talk pages[edit]

The usual way to talk to someone else is on their User Talk page. If you can get to their user page, look at the tabs across the top, and one of them is called Talk. Click on that and you will see that user's talk page. Click on New Section and you can add a new message with a subject and the whatever want to say. Sign it by typing ~~~~ which will be magically converted into your signature, just like this for me 08:53, 4 May 2017 (UTC)

If you need any help, please feel free to ask me. It is not an easy learning curve to get started with Wikipedia, but it is a very worthwhile thing to do, contributing to the vision of all knowledge being freely available to all people. Move of Émile Bernard reverted.[edit]

Information icon Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Your bold move of Émile Bernard has been reverted because an editor has found it to be controversial. Per Wikipedia:Requested moves, a move request must be placed on the article's talk page, and the request be open for discussion for seven days, "if there is any reason to believe a move would be contested". Such consensus is particularly required before moving a title with incoming links in order to create a disambiguation page at that title. If you believe that this move is appropriate, please initiate such a discussion to form the appropriate consensus. Again, please note that moving a page with a longstanding title and/or a large number of incoming links is more likely to be considered controversial, and may be contested. bd2412 T 21:59, 12 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Sources needed for Days of the Year pages[edit]

You're probably not aware but Days of the Year pages are no longer exempt from WP:V and direct sources are required for additions. For details see Wikipedia:WikiProject_Days_of_the_year#Style. The article about the person you added to December 31 did not have any source to back up your addition to that page so it has been reverted. Please do not restore it without providing a direct reliable source. Thank you. Toddst1 (talk) 01:15, 2 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you! I simply copied that information from the Wikipedia page about Stephen Cleobury and forgot to copy the source as well; but I had a look at the source given on the Stephen Cleobury page which says that he was born on 31 December 1948; and I couldn't find any reference to 31 December, only to 1948 as the birth year. Can you please review that as well, in case that's an unreferenced piece of information? If you do find a reference to the date that I missed in the provided source, please let me know and I'll update the 31 December page providing the same reference. For the record, I Googled "Stephen Cleobury 31 December 1948" and found a lot of sites of the same nature as Wikipedia which claim the same birth date, but nothing more substantiah than that. Copying within Wikipedia requires proper attribution[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Feast of the Sacred Heart into Sacred Heart. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was moved, attribution is not required. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 14:13, 12 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Famousbirthdays.com as a source[edit]

Hi Hymnodist.2004. I noticed that you recently used famousbirthdays.com as a source for information in a biography article, Sean Rees-Wemyss. Please note that there is general consensus that famousbirthdays.com does not meet the reliable sourcing criteria for the inclusion of personal information in such articles. (See Wikipedia:Reliable_sources/Noticeboard/Archive_153#Is_famousbirthdays.com_a_reliable_source_for_personal_information). If you disagree, let's discuss it. Notice

The article Alana Mansour has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable actor lacking in-depth, non-trivial support. WP:TOOSOON

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. reddogsix (talk) 04:16, 8 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Sean Rees-Wemyss moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Sean Rees-Wemyss, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please follow the confirms on the Articles for Creation template atop the page. The editor whose username is Z0 14:23, 8 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Note on adding unsourced content[edit]

A cup of coffee for you!

Hey, I'm Z0. I noticed that you added content to an article but didn't provide a reliable source. You should cite a reliable source for all of your edits so that they can be verified. In Wikipedia, verifiability means that other people using the encyclopedia can check that the information comes from a reliable source. Adding unsourced content contravenes Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial.

Wikipedia does not publish original research, which refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist. Its content is determined by previously published information rather than the beliefs or experiences of its editors. Even if you're sure something is true, it must be verifiable before you can add it. The verifiability policy requires inline citations for any material challenged or likely to be challenged, and for all quotations, anywhere in article space. Articles should be based on reliable and published sources (see Wikipedia:Neutral point of view) and if no reliable sources can be found on a topic, Wikipedia should not have an article on it.

Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. The editor whose username is Z0 14:23, 8 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks for your message. I’m not aware of having published unsourced material; could you please point me to the content you’re questioning and I’ll see if I made a mistake. Thank you! Hymnodist.2004 (talk) 04:33, 9 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Alana Mansour has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one.
