Reply to deleted message on talk page[edit]

Howdy,

I know you deleted your message on my talk page, but I wanted to make sure you knew I didn't intend any malice when I reverted your edit - The issue wasn't that you listed the members who voted no (I believe I've seen similar lists on other pages), it was the lack of a cited source and the commentary. Especially on political related topics, it's really important that we maintain as high a degree of neutrality as possible. There are probably ways to phrase the crossover between Senators who supported attempts to overturn the results of the 2020 election and Senators who voted against Haines that are more neutral, especially if it's been reported on by reliable sources (and I imagine it has). We also want to make sure that we don't place people above criticism - Plenty of people, including myself, opposed Haines' confirmation for reasons drastically different than Republican's reasons (That's not a reason to not make your edit, of course, just a reason to make sure the phrasing is fair).

I apologize if you feel I've crossed a boundary in posting here - I hate it when people who make good faith edits leave an editing dispute feeling as though they've been wronged, especially if it's because of a revert I made. ThadeusOfNazerethTalk to Me! 05:02, 21 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
