Samoa Football[edit]

Hi Lawrence, please stop what you are doing to these articles at the moment. Your edits are adding elements that are against guidlines (WP:INFOBOXFLAG), replacing {{reflist}} with the less helpful <references /> as well as adding commented out images for completely different leagues and I note in places removing material sourced to reliable sources. I know you are just trying to improve the articles, but your recent edits have not achieved this. Please let me know if you have any questions. Fenix down (talk) 08:21, 30 October 2015 (UTC)

OK, I'm sorry Fenix down if I went against any protocols while editing these articles. Revert any of the articles you wish, I was just trying to improve the articles (which in my opinion I did), but nevertheless, if you saw my hour's work as against the guidelines, do whatever you like. Lawrencedepe (talk) 08:27, 30 October 2015 (UTC)
No problem, the guidelines above are not things you should necessarily have known about. However, looking through your most recent edits, I do also see a number of instances such as this where you have removed content that is sourced. If you have doubts over the reliability of a source then by all means challenge it but RSSSF is one of the most reliable football statistic websites and it doesn't make much sense to remove elements sourced to that site but not others. Please let me know if you need any help, it is great to see someone else interested Oceanian football, so I don't want to discourage you from continuing to contribute! Also, I have been considering potentially a new task force page to deal with the lack of pages on Oceanic domestic leagues if you are interested. If you look at the talk page for Wikipedia Football, I'm in a bit of a hurry so I won't tag it here, I wrote a small thing on a potential idea and I'll let you read it if you wish. I will probably have a look at the guideline pages on the Wikipedia Football page in a bit more detail to have a more thorough understanding of the layout. Thanks for any constructive criticism :) Lawrencedepe (talk) 10:38, 30 October 2015 (UTC)
I think that is a good idea. Have expressed my interest and pinged a few editors I know also edit Oceanian football pages. there's not many of us but a task force might act as a bit of a beacon to attract a few more editors, its certainly the confederation with the biggest gaps in content so hopefully there will be enough interest to make a formal task force worthwhile. Do fee lfree to ping any other editors you know to let them know about the proposal. Fenix down (talk) 11:14, 30 October 2015 (UTC)

Removing Content[edit]

Information icon Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Samoa National League, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please make use of the sandbox if you'd like to experiment with test edits. I noticed that you again removed a reliable source concerning the venue for the Samoa National League and provided no edit summary, nor replaced ti with a better source. Please do not remove sources from articles going forward. If you have a doubt on a source, please discuss on the talk page first or at WT:FOOTY if no response is received on the article talk page. Fenix down (talk) 09:15, 9 November 2015 (UTC)

Hello Fenix down again. This time, though, the reasoning for me changing the Samoa National League page was because the way I edited it was in accordance with the template on the Wiki Football page for national competitions. Indeed I deleted one source from the stadium name in the description because it was unnecessary and didn't really have any meaning. I kept the same source format and it didn't change it as you previously criticised me for doing. I also added the 'Performances' subheading as it was provided in the Wiki Football national competition template, and I believe it was a feature that could've been added to the article with the information provided. If there has been anything I've missed again, I'd really like to know because this time I have actually edited the page to the standards set by a verified Wikipedia Project article. Apologies for not explaining in the edit summary.

Hi Lawrence, just to let you know, I didn't have any issue with any of your edits other than the removal of the reference to the ground. All statements need to be verifiable per WP:V, so unless there is an excessive amount of sourcing for a given statement, it is generally not a good idea to remove any sources at all unless you consider them to be unreliable or wrong (and even in that instance there are tags you can use to flag this). In this instance, referencing the ground is particularly important as all matches are played there, so it is necessary and has meaning as it confirms to the reader that this unusual state of affairs is correct. Oceania[edit]

Improve more of the Oceania Leagues. Put the information also in tables. Thanks!--Alexiulian25 (talk) 18:34, 10 November 2015 (UTC)

I improved Port Vila Football League. Look how it looks now !--Alexiulian25 (talk) 23:37, 10 November 2015 (UTC)
You can use this for references: [1].
I also add the official webiste, can you ask them for complete statistics, they must have it. I do not know to speak 100% correct English. Or tell me the correct message and I will send it. It is a lot of games results missing, it is not possible, it still look a disaster this league. Thanks--Alexiulian25 (talk) 11:25, 11 November 2015 (UTC)
Hi Alex, you might also find this useful if you are not already aware of it. Fenix down (talk) 11:42, 11 November 2015 (UTC)
I know about it, it is still a lot of data missing for many seasons, at least to add what we find and put them in tables. Thanks!--Alexiulian25 (talk) 12:04, 11 November 2015 (UTC)
