US soft power

According to the monocle soft power index, last updated 2017 - the US ranks first. If I may also inquire, why do you feel the need to remove it and what are your sources to provide the contrary? How wouldn't it be measurable when it this article has stated this for years until you decided to remove it? NocturnalDef (talk) 22:34, 15 November 2017 (UTC)

That sentence was recently changd

I'm referring to the part about decline which was in the article. The sentence I removed stated the United States influence was in decline, which isn't really a measurable thing you can source. The US obviously fluctuates on the soft power chart as no nation can remain number one every year. However, the US repeatedly returns to that spot time and again. You can add the sentence back without that part as US influence and soft power can be sourced as you stated. Unless of course you can source something disputing my observation on soft power because obviously I cannot deny reputable sources. Ludlite (talk) 01:58, 16 November 2017 (UTC)

ArbCom 2018 election voter message

Hello, Ludlite. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

Laissez-faire and Great Famine

I don’t have a copy of the reference text, I was hoping to clear up the statement without changing its meaning. The statement prior said the laissez-faire economic policy of Ireland/UK exacerbated the problem, so I added that the laissez-faire stance exacerbated it as it sought to eventually solve itself through free-market over time as is the belief with that economic theory. Essentially, I added to to the statement in order to briefly explain the laissez-faire effect.
