Noticed a recreated spam page (it was declined on AfC and was deleted a few times); en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G5_Entertainment. It has also cross-wiki spam signs(was uploaded to Ukrainian wiki a few years ago and simultaneously to Belarus wiki and after one day to English wiki under this name: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G5_Entertainment_Group but go deleted by GSS admin). Sockpuppet blocks

Hello, MER-C,

I was looking at User talk:SergeyAntloy and noticed that there was no notice that this editor was blocked for sockpuppetry. I was surprised because this has been the practice for the checkusers and SPI clerks I have worked with in the past. If you are following up the closure of an SPI case and blocking sockpuppets could you take a moment and put a notice on the User talk page? It helps editors who are following up their edits with questions also a block notice tells the editor how to appeal their block and I don't think it will take more than a minute or two of your time.

I wouldn't make this request if I didn't think this was standard practice for admins who help with SPI cases but I think it is. You can ask your fellow admins if my perception is accurate. I guess I'll reply to the accusation that "A412 user is always there to defend the page".

I have no relation to this page. I picked it up out of the NPP queue, and it's on my watchlist. Either new users love proposing deletion of this page, or someone's socking. (It pretty clearly passes WP:NCORP to my eyes, although to be fair to the IP, it is mildly promotional, probably UPE, though not more egregious than the average corporation article). Question about Skidmore-Tynan Independent School District

Hi! I notice Skidmore-Tynan Independent School District was deleted due to copyright problems. Aren't there revisions of this article from before any copyvio content came up, or was the original revision a copyvio?

If the copyvio stuff came later, the original revisions should be restored (as in stuff before any copyvio stuff was added).

I know a user at Wikipedia:Copyright_problems/2022_October_23 stated this was "foundational" but I recall a bunch of school district articles being created in the mid-2000s and I don't recall those having copyright violations in the initial revisions?

The concern I have is although it was just created, there are some "access date" on the references that are dated from previous years which indicates the content is not new. Indeed, the page appears to be a case of undisclosed paid editing (UPE), as evidenced by the nature and history of edits made by the new contributor. Moreover these edits suggest that the contributor lacks both familiarity with and interest in the subject matter. Help request

Hi - I hope you don't mind my contacting you; another admin has recommended you for your expertise in this area. There's an article Pumi dog that has been blanked out for seven days now because of an alleged copyvio, which concerns a single sentence where the wording followed that of the American Kennel Club breed standard. Unfortunately the reporting editor has placed the flag at the top of the article, rather than in the relevant section, thus removing the entire article from view, since when nothing has moved. I've followed procedure and posted an amended version of the article, which deals with the matter, at Talk:Pumi dog/Temp, and I hope it's just a question of an admin copying this back to the main page and removing the flag? With the world's biggest dog show now underway, this is a period when dog breed pages always get more views. Could you kindly drop by here and take a look, please? Thanks in anticipation.... RFA2024 update: no longer accepting new proposals in phase I

Hey there! This is to let you know that phase I of the 2024 requests for adminship (RfA) review is now no longer accepting new proposals. Lots of proposals remain open for discussion, and the current round of review looks to be on a good track towards making significant progress towards improving RfA's structure and environment. I'd like to give my heartfelt thanks to everyone who has given us their idea for change to make RfA better, and the same to everyone who has given the necessary feedback to improve those ideas. The following proposals remain open for discussion:

• Proposal 2, initiated by HouseBlaster, provides for the addition of a text box at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship reminding all editors of our policies and enforcement mechanisms around decorum.
• Proposals 3 and 3b, initiated by Barkeep49 and Usedtobecool, respectively, provide for trials of discussion-only periods at RfA. The first would add three extra discussion-only days to the beginning, while the second would convert the first two days to discussion-only.
• Proposal 5, initiated by SilkTork, provides for a trial of RfAs without threaded discussion in the voting sections.
• Proposals 6c and 6d, initiated by BilledMammal, provide for allowing users to be selected as provisional admins for a limited time through various concrete selection criteria and smaller-scale vetting.
• Proposal 7, initiated by Lee Vilenski, provides for the "General discussion" section being broken up with section headings.
• Proposal 9b, initiated by Reaper Eternal, provides for the requirement that allegations of policy violation be substantiated with appropriate links to where the alleged misconduct occured.
• Proposals 12c, 21, and 21b, initiated by City of Silver, Ritchie333, and HouseBlaster, respectively, provide for reducing the discretionary zone, which currently extends from 65% to 75%. The first would reduce it 65%–70%, the second would reduce it to 50%–66%, and the third would reduce it to 60%–70%.
• Proposal 13, initiated by Novem Lingaue, provides for periodic, privately balloted admin elections.
• Proposal 14, initiated by Kusma, provides for the creation of some minimum suffrage requirements to cast a vote.
• Proposals 16 and 16c, initiated by Thebiguglyalien and Soni, respectively, provide for community-based admin desysop procedures. 16 would desysop where consensus is established in favor at the administrators' noticeboard; 16c would allow a petition to force reconfirmation.
• Proposal 16e, initiated by BilledMammal, would extend the recall procedures of 16 to bureaucrats.
• Proposal 17, initiated by SchroCat, provides for "on-call" admins and 'crats to monitor RfAs for decorum.
• Proposal 18, initiated by theleekycauldron, provides for lowering the RfB target from 85% to 75%.
• Proposal 24, initiated by SportingFlyer, provides for a more robust alternate version of the optional candidate poll.
• Proposal 25, initiated by Femke, provides for the requirement that nominees be extended-confirmed in addition to their nominators.
• Proposal 27, initiated by WereSpielChequers, provides for the creation of a training course for admin hopefuls, as well as periodic retraining to keep admins from drifting out of sync with community norms.
• Proposal 28, initiated by HouseBlaster, tightens restrictions on multi-part questions.

You are cordially invited once again to participate in the open discussions; when phase I ends, phase II will review the outcomes of trial proposals and refine the implementation details of other proposals. Hello! I noticed "Rodgers V" has been blocked. I striked out their vote and noted the block at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Zupan's Markets, thinking this was common practice, but another editor took issue with this. I saw you noted the block at AfDs started by Rodgers V, but do you think a comment is helpful/justified here, too? Hi. Could you please take a look at Elizzzzz (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) contributions? They are just posting all sort of spammy obscure topics such as ChargeFinder, Vanguart (watches), Jennifer Dustow, Martin Woodall, Draft:WhosHere Plus, Draft:Johann Siegmundt Sultzberger, Draft:Philipp Herold. They didn't respond to disclosure requirement and certainly know what they do and operate multiple accounts. Hi. You draftified and tagged Draft:Ricardo de los Santos Polanco as being likely covert advertising; can you clarify in what way you think this is covert advertising? I see it was created and edited by a chain of sockpuppets, but unless there is some meta reasoning with the socks I am unaware of, this brief article does not seem to have any advertising to my eyes.
