I appreciate that you are acting in good faith, but it is best if featured articles are nominated by people who have worked closely on them. In this way, they can give reasoned replies to reviewers and be familiar enough with the sources to act on suggested improvements. Someone who has not worked on the article can not provide this input, so the nomination may continue until opposition to it becomes so overwhelming that the article is failed; this takes away time from reviewers. While the Black Sabbath article is of reasonable quality, it is not yet of featured quality, and principal contributors must be consulted before a nomination, as required in the featured article candidate instructions. Proposed deletion of Andy Stott

The article Andy Stott has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No reliable, independent sources about him per WP:SOURCES. I can find reviews of his music, but nothing that goes in depth about him.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. I have now worked on the article and added sources as requested. I am also favorable to changing the note to Notable and Refimprove. But it is up to User:Bgwhite who did the original proposal to review the additional info and sources given and act accordingly. I have left a note on his page as well in this regard. But what a talented artist this Andy Stott guy is. I have checked quite a lot of his work while working on his Wikipedia page and he is just superb. werldwayd (talk) 14:56, 27 June 2012 (UTC)
