If this was the first article that you created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

The page Draft:ToxNav has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seemed to be unambiguous advertising which only promoted a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to have been fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

Please do not recreate the material without addressing these concerns, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you think this page should not have been deleted for this reason, or you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. 331dot (talk) 11:34, 3 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

September 2019[edit]

There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing. Additionally, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for your contributions to Wikipedia, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block. To do so, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason for thinking that the block was an error, and publish the page. 331dot (talk) 11:34, 3 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I fully disclosed that I am being paid to edit by Oxford Cancer Biomarkers, I can change my username if that solves the issue. Please reinstate my draft: ToxNav , it is an informative article about a clinical test we provide, I can remove all the contact info from the article as I can see why that may be classed as advertisement. Thank you

Decline reason:

You forgot to pick a new username. You forgot to convince us you understand why your draft on ToxNav was inappropriate. You forgot to tell us what you'll edit instead. If your only goal is to write about subject areas for which you have a conflict of interest, we aren't interested in unblocking you. Yamla (talk) 13:13, 3 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Someone else will review your request, but you may propose a new username by following the instructions in the block notice. You may replace your above request with one that proposes a new username and simultaneously requests unblock. Please also note that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and not a place for you or your company to tell about its products. We are only interested in what independent reliable sources state about article subjects that meet Wikipedia's special definition of notability. 331dot (talk) 12:53, 3 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I understand that the username needs to be changed so that it is not a company name, thank you.

Decline reason:

This username is already in use (on de-wiki). Please select a new username. You will also need to address the other issues raised above. Yunshui  13:29, 3 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I understand that I can no longer purely write about conflicting interests and it was wrong to do so, I will instead about the subject around it: DPD deficiency which leads to severe side effects of 5FU chemotherapy. Please may I see my previous draft: ToxNav, so that I can retain the purely informative parts I wrote about the deficiency, thank you.

Accept reason:

I have renamed your account from "OxfordCancerBiomarkers" to "GeorgeTannerGeorge", and I have unblocked the account, on the basis of your assurance about your future editing intentions, and with the agreement of the blocking administrator. I am sorry that your first experience of editing Wikipedia has been so negative, and I hope things go better for you from now on. As for your request to see the deleted draft, I have restored its history. At present the page just shows a message about why I have restored it, but the history of the page is here, and the last version before deletion is visible here. This is intended to be just a short-term arrangement, so I suggest you copy whatever you want from it and save it, before it is deleted again. rename to G30rg3T3nn3r not successful[edit]

Too similar to existing user name. Please select again.-- Deepfriedokra 21:25, 9 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • I have renamed your account from "OxfordCancerBiomarkers" to "GeorgeTannerGeorge". 331dot, do you think that the assurance above about avoiding conflict-of-interest editing makes an unblock reasonable? JamesBWatson (talk) 18:52, 13 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I think it's reasonable. 331dot (talk) 19:15, 13 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
