Prince Edward Island Potatoes[edit]

Thanks for your message on my talk page. The reason I tagged the article was that your username appears to stand for "Prince Edward Island Potato Board", suggesting that you may have a conflict of interest with regard to the article you created. Having examined the article, it looks like it needs more independent sources, as 5 of the 9 are pages on peipotato.org. I suggest you read WP:IS to get a better idea of what sources the article should have more of. In the meantime, thanks for your effort to make the page less promotional. Your username[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "Peipotatoboard", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because Wikipedia accounts must be for individuals only, who are personally responsible for them, and accounts whose names are the names of groups or organizations are not permitted. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username, or you may simply create a new account for editing.

Even with an individual account, before editing on any matter connected with PEI Potatoes or the Board, you should read the Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide. Wikipedia is very strongly resistant to being used for any kind of advertising or promotion, even by those who believe they are only "telling the world" about their company or product. • Your new username can be based on your real name, or not, as you choose (see WP:REALNAME for some considerations), but it should not be the name of another real person or of any group or organization. There would be no objection to a name of the form "James at PEIPB", which would declare your interest clearly, while making it plain that you are an individual.
