Disambiguation link notification for July 16[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Post-disco, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Zapp (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Whack!

You've been whacked with a wet trout.

Don't take this too seriously. Someone just wants to let you know that you did something silly.

Take part in a survey[edit]

Hi ItsAlwaysLupus

We're working to measure the value of Wikipedia in economic terms. We want to ask you some questions about how you value being able to edit Wikipedia.

Our survey should take about 10-15 minutes of your time. We hope that you will enjoy it and find the questions interesting. All answers will be kept strictly confidential and will be anonymized before the aggregate results are published. Regretfully, we can only accept responses from people who live in the US due to restrictions in our grant-based funding.

As a reward for your participation, we will randomly pick 1 out of every 5 participants and give them $25 worth of goods of their choice from the Wikipedia store (e.g. Wikipedia themed t-shirts). Note that we can only reward you if you are based in the US.

Click here to access the survey: http://ucla.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_bI9nxWdVDoNZZKR

Thanks

C&P move[edit]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Folktronica a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Disruptive edits and undiscussed moves and merges[edit]

Please stop making disruptive edits regarding music genres.

1) You have already been informed several times that before moving and merging significant and large articles, such actions should be put forward for discussion, and not done single-handily, because in most cases they may be characterized as controversial (due to the lack of objective reasons for such actions). WP:RM + WP:MERGEINIT

2) Many of your assessments of the sources look biased WP:NPOV. Large book publications with listed sources cannot be considered unreliable (Source 1 & 3 for https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Psychedelic_funk&type=revision&diff=978663058&oldid=965988184&diffmode=source), same about the half of the others sources on the article, e.g. publications from AllMusic are often used in many genre articles. Such cases repeating a lot in your edits. WP:GNG

3) Using https://www.edmtunes.com/2018/06/rezz-x-1788-lhex/ to classify two artists into a genre, while the publication only indicates that artists on their only collaboration track were inspired by the genre is not enough to claim that they are new beat artists - this is a rough and erroneous interpretation of the source. WP:PSTS

4) Also, while trying to merge New beat article with Acid house on August 7, you moved parts of NB article into AH. I've rolled back such changes because they violated several rules at once. Today you've rolled everything back, claiming that I copied parts of one article to another, while I just returned parts of the text after your actions. Was it a mistake of yours or deliberate trolling and vandalism? WP:EW

5) And besides, in today's revert of New beat article - you have broken a lot of sources, which I've restored via archiving links, and rolled back few sources that I've added as well. Such actions also should be fixed or they may be treated as vandalism. WP:VD

Considering that you ignored all the previous asks regarding the same actions, and in response several times you threatened with reports to the administration, your actions have already been submitted to the administration for consideration: Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents. Once again, I call you to take seriously the problems expressed and stop doing the same mistakes. Solidest (talk) 15:13, 17 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, the Kerrang! article is actually talking about trancecore, rather than the original metalcore, "The metalcore of the past decade borrowed from pop, hip-hop and emo, but it was the genre's embracing of electronic elements that paved the way for even more surprising experimentation."
"it’s metalcore's most electronic-leaning artists that have had a lasting impact on hyperpop artists."
"Bands like I See Stars – whose heavy music also took electronica to new heights – sound a lot like these newer artists." 16:29, 22 October 2021 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:C7F:38FC:A300:88F8:AD0D:83B2:8C0F (talk)

Is Post-Disco R&B?[edit]

The Rhythm and Blues template has Post-Disco, and I noticed that you're the one who put it. Where does it state that Post-Disco is a genre of R&B? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 47.36.25.163 (talk) 15:37, 29 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Electronica[edit]

I personally disagree wholeheartedly with your redirect of electronica to electronic music. I believe that the two are very much different entities. Electronica is not a synonym for electronic music - it can only be used as a synonym for a large part of electronic music from the late 1980s onwards. A tag has been placed on Motown (genre) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Motown (genre). When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.
