Information icon Hello, I'm McGeddon. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Ellen Ripley, but you didn't provide a reliable source. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic characters, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Good breeding. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Template headings[edit]

I've reverted your edits to Template:Episode VI and Template:Episode VII, as we use the original release titles for the Star Wars film templates. This has been discussed in great detail prior, but if you want to see it changed, I'd suggest you take it up with WikiProject Star Wars and/or WikiProject Film. Thank you for your recent edits to List of Game of Thrones characters, however I have reverted them due to the maintenance tags at the top of the page. Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, including your edits to Continent, but we cannot accept original research. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you. BilCat (talk) 07:11, 21 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

October 2017[edit]

Information icon Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to High School DxD. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. —Farix (t | c) 17:56, 16 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Gamergate controversy discretionary sanctions alert[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have recently shown interest in (a) GamerGate, (b) any gender-related dispute or controversy, (c) people associated with (a) or (b), all broadly construed. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect: any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or any page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Unsourced genres[edit]

Hi, you may have noticed that I and several other editors reverted your addition of the isekai genre to the infoboxes of several articles. Like most things on Wikipedia, genres require sources, and while most of these articles probably are classified as isekai, you can't just add the genre without a source. If you can find and cite a reliable source that refers to the works as said genre, then feel free to restore your edits. G S Palmer (talkcontribs) 22:37, 5 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Category:Fictional eSports players, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, such as at Articles for deletion. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. I really do appreciate your edits to 20th century, but most of them do not show credible sources, and the name Long Peace may not be mainstream, even though it does have an article with some sources. To be fair, the strip club article has a HUGE amount of whitespace between the lead and the first section because of a frankly uselessly long TOC. The Rambling Man (talk) 18:33, 16 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Horse racing in the United States] into Sports in the New York metropolitan area. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was copied, attribution is not required. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 12:20, 2 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Faster than light[edit]

Thanks for linking in the word superliminal but you should probably check those references before you go changing back to fictional from theoretical because you seem to be running around with the impression that moving information faster than the speed of light isn't possible. If you could just quick look up why the observable universe is the observable universe and get over the idea that moving faster than the speed of light is impossible then go see that we can entangle particles and communicate information across entangled particles. Not really sure what more information you need to see that it's pretty clearly possible to move information faster than the speed of light.... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.113.179.182 (talk) 12:10, 4 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for February 20[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic characters, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Sapient (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

A tag has been placed on Category:Fictional Detroit Police Department officers requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia.

Sockpuppet investigation[edit]

An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/CensoredScribe, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.
