License tagging for File:ShixxDesktop.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:ShixxDesktop.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 18:07, 11 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:ShixxPromo.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:ShixxPromo.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MBisanz talk 23:49, 6 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Might I draw your attention to...[edit]

I noticed your work on ShixxNOTE required a great number of edits. Are you aware that you can see a preview of the work you are doing to check everything looks good and check spellings and punctuation etc. before submitting the work as a finished draft? Just to the right of the "Save page" button you'll see the "Show preview" button. By using this to check our work before saving the page we can save Wikimedia and all users of Wikipedia a lot of trouble keeping track of the page history. Also it is good practice to always leave a short comment about what work we carried out in the "Edit summary" just above the "Save page" and "Show preview" buttons. You can also create a sandbox as an extension to your own user page to use as a testing site for work that might require a lot of little changes over a period of hours or days. Happy editing! -- FG/T|C 19:19, 29 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you Fred. Now I will click first Preview button instead of immediately clicking on Save page button. Also thanks for letting me know about Sandbox page where I can learn some Wiki tags. Instead of using <table> to use class="wikiTable" and those punctuation !,+,- for creating same table. And yes I will describe what I am doing on some page in a little sentence. I am learning so thanks for advice. Also I really want to contribute to Wikipedia. Regards, Ozren Shixx (talk) 21:18, 1 October 2011 (UTC).[reply]

  • Hiya. I'm glad to help. Editing Wikipedia is quite complicated isn't it? I am learning myself. Templates and licensing are the bits that I have the greatest trouble with. I read the Templates page and its subsequent pages. Yeesh there are so many!! How people remember which one goes where and how each is used I really don't know ;) I guess practice makes perfect as with all things. I honestly believe that trying to do good things and failing is batter than not trying at all so we can both try and learn and help as best we can, and hopefully our efforts will make Wikipedia better in the end. -- fgTC 01:13, 2 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:ShixxNOTE 6 net Version.jpg[edit]

However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

License information needed for File:ShixxNOTE Windows 7 0.jpg[edit]

Hello, Sirola!

It was really helpful of you to upload File:ShixxNOTE Windows 7 0.jpg. However, in order to keep and use new images, they need to have a license.

If you can edit the description page and add the appropriate license, that would be great. If you're not sure how or need help, please ask at the media copyright questions page and we'll be happy to assist you.

Thanks again! --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 22:07, 23 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of ShixxNOTE for deletion[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article ShixxNOTE is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/ShixxNOTE until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Fut.Perf. 23:42, 23 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry but I think this article is not candidate for deletion. It is notable shareware computer program which explain how desktop notes work, how you can send them across LAN. If you need independent review check Editor's Review on Softpedia site, or at Download.com. ShixxNOTE is shareware program and everybody can see how desktop notes program can be also LAN messenger. If this article is on Wikipedia more than 7 years why now again Gene93k want to delete it. Again there is some administrator who wants to remove this usefull article. Please check "Find sources" above and click on "books" link you will get 3 books where you can find ShixxNOTE program. In book "Network security assessment" (O Reilly, by Chris McNab) you will find ShixxNOTE program, also check other two books "Windows-Only Instant Messaging Clients: Xfire, Tencent Qq, S4pg, ..." and "Windows-Only Instant Messaging Clients, Including: Windows ..."• sirola (talk) 22:34, 25 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

January 2012[edit]

Hello Sirola. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about following the reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. Fut.Perf. 07:08, 31 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hello Future Perfect at Sunrise. Thank you for introducing me to Wikipedia rules. I will be carefull next time. Kind regards. (Sirola (talk) 10:48, 31 January 2012 (UTC))[reply]

ShixxNOTE AfD[edit]

I see, you are not all that familiar with Wikipedia rules. We have here two rules (WP:PA and WP:AGF) which you might want to read before any harm is inflicted upon you. As long as your edits qualify for WP:SPA, the decision upon your attacks (once reported by someone) would be a really easy call. That doesn't mean that you shouldn't defend your article about your software (you actually should), but be warned: defending it by adding reliable sources to establish its notability is a way more productive then accusing me of nationalism.

I would also note, that I hope very much, that your program continues making money for you, the more the better. But Wikipedia is not a soapbox or means of promotion, and despite my feelings for ex-Yugoslavia, I would insist on cleaning Wikipedia from promotional, but poorly referenced material. — Dmitrij D. Non-free rationale for File:ShixxNOTE Send To Dialog.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:ShixxNOTE Send To Dialog.gif. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Need help on my ShixxNOTE article section "Rate this page"[edit]

,

On ShixxNOTE article page there is an error on "View page ratings". You will see something like this "66" "67" "66" "66" ?? Somehow somebody rate only section "Objective" ? How that is possible ? Also now if you try to rate ShixxNOTE page you will get error !! Can somebody please help me and make things works correctly on section "Rate this page" ...

Kind regards,

Sirola (talk) 12:51, 26 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The page renders correctly for me. Do you have images and/or JavaScript disabled? The numbers that are approximately 70 are the number of ratings, e.g., what is see is "Objective" getting a 4.6 rating with 68 ratings, a number that is fairly implausible in my experience unless someone is stuffing the ballot box. I'm not having any trouble submitting ratings, either. --j⚛e deckertalk 17:34, 26 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:ShixxNOTE Note Menu.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:ShixxNOTE Note Menu.gif. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Codename Lisa (talk) 00:41, 12 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of ShixxNOTE for deletion[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article ShixxNOTE is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/ShixxNOTE (2nd nomination) until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Kleuske (talk) 12:13, 16 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Can some of English Wikipedia administrators please consider putting back ShixxNOTE article page. Because it was on English Wikipedia more than 10 years and now new admins discussed and deleted ShixxNOTE program page. BTW ShixxNOTE program is mentioned on Wikipedia on few pages including 3M page where there is sentence about program. Please see if you could do me and community great favour. Kind regards, Ozren Sirola

Notice

The file File:ShixxLogo.gif has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unused logo with no article used.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Desktop sticky notes, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
