Well, your addition of links and content about the company, as well as your username suggests that you are here to promote the company. Wikipedia is not intended to be a way to promote a business or a service, and I would advise you to avoid adding such content in the future. You might consider another outlet to write about it.

Hi rather confused with this wiki stuff.dont know if this is right or how to send you a message on talk. was looking up about ice skates and inline skates. I chose the user name skate without ice as its what i do how i skate as i do not have a local ice rink. I just see that other company names/websites are on there and can find no info on these skates really on the web other than their website. i know they were used in the closing ceremonies as my coach was one of them. so added their website as there were other american website links. Maybe i chose the wrong user name. Trying to make it fair that other companies get a look especially as i think its the only 1 in the uk as i understand both the pic and snow whites are american companies. I have contacted shops about these skates and no one seems to know much about them so yes may i am tryin to go their name out there - but is that now what the other links are doing promoting those companies. I had been told by others that wiki is something anyone can use and add stuff to as long as its correct. So i used the correct website and thier trade name for thier skates - as has who ever added the other links. no point in me saying i skate in ordinary inlines skates as they are not, they are a specialist skate. so sorry if i have not understood and inadvertantly imply that i am part of the company - when i am not. Just someone that beleives in the product i bought

Hey Skate WithoutIce. Thanks for the response. I must admit when I first saw your username I thought you might be an employee of Off-Ice Skating, but I see I was mistaken. Wikipedia can be an overwhelming place at first, but you'll get the hang of it if you decide to stick around (and I hope you do!). As for the other external links on Inline figure skating, I actually think they are all spam, and should all be removed. You can read more about which links are OK and which should be avoided here. There are plenty of skating-related articles you can work on if you're interested. Inline figure skating in particular is in a dreadful state. Don't hesitate to leave me a message here (I'll watch this page) or at User talk:Braincricket if you want some help or advice. Cheers. Braincricket (talk) 10:41, 12 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

thanks for your quick reply! i know a couple of the coaches as they teach me (and others) saw an advert for skates similar to ice skates and started classes, yes a bit over zealous with my new hobby so excited to see a product on the market that i can use without having to drive for hrs to a rink! well thats why when i saw those links ( without 1st checking) thought ok ill add their site :) as the other brands were up there, didnt see it as a problem, Yes a very confusing place is wiki but when you google something wiki tend to be on the top what ever it is you look up. So you call the links "spam" and feel they should all be removed, well i suppose as the link i put up was removed due to someone thinking it was spam i agree that maybe all links should also be removed! But then half of wiki i would imagine would disapear would it not?? problem is these days its hard to define what is spam and advertising and what is not. for the sake of argument i went to the theatre last night they mentioned if you have facebook to like thier page - so you could say they were advertising the social media site?? Getting back to skating, some people get offended when you talk about inline skating being same/simliar to rollerskating or ice skating all in the same content. I have learnt over recent months that skating or artistic skating seems to be so different depending on how you skate, whether it be ice inline or rollerskating ( on 4 wheels - quads) They all do the same sort of thing - you put them on and move and can do various skills.! I see it as a bit like a car ( a vehicle) you drive 1 brand i drive another, but when people ask you tell them the brand you drive - thats not technically advertising. all i wanted to do was make aware that the product i use differs from those advertised in that page. So think i should look more into this before i start editing or making comment. cheers
