Username policy concerns

Thank you for the disclosure on your userpage indicating your affiliation to Med-Peds Academic Channel. I noticed that your username includes the abbreviation "MPAC" in reference to that, which raises questions with respect to the username policy of Wikipedia. Per the section on shared use, accounts tied to a post or role in an organization are nor permitted; whereas accounts that clearly belong to an individual person are okay. I've included the standard canned message for such username issues below. Please peruse the information carefully and apply for a username change if needed to comply with the rules.

Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, service, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Foobar Museum of Art". However, you are permitted to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you individually (not your role), such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87", but not "SEO Manager at XYZ Company".

Sorry for all the hassle

I have been hanging out on the help desk for over a decade. We get a great many requests that are similar to yours from folks who have a "paid" interest in an article, and frankly, many of them are trying to make changes that are promotional. I have gotten somewhat trigger-happy in my responses. It turns out that your simple request for an article name change was perfectly reasonable in every way.

Our policies and procedures are intended to prevent advocates from modifying Wikipedia to push a particular point of view. Based on my experience, it appeared that you were doing so, but in fact you were not (or at least your POV is congruent with reality). NO worries at all! I completely understand and appreciate your responses. My account is now fully compliant, what could be better than that! This experience/web conversation just further supports and solidifies the identity of the Med-Peds community. Thank you for all of your support, and dedication to the Wikipedia platform.
