Pages using this file[edit]

FTCG should allow users to copy the titles of pages using the file via right click menu (which currently is disabled). --XXN, 12:53, 28 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi XXN; I'm so sorry it's taken me this long to reply! In future, please ping me if you would like a more rapid response.
Some comments on your messages above:
  • %%OriginalUploader%% and %%InterwikiLinkPrefix%% only work in SelfLicenseReplacements. But it's easy for me to change the code so they work in Replacements as well. I will fix this in the next update, which I will put out very soon.
  • Automatic date fixing could be nice, but is actually a little bit non-trivial. If FtCG was only used on English-languages wikis, it would be easy, but the support would need to be extended to other languages, each of which has its own date formatting conventions. So I'm afraid this will have to be a low-priority request.
  • I will add the Convert to SVG change, as well as the removal of the Move to Commons Priority Candidates category, to the next update.
  • I'll also add that right-click menu in the file list :)
Thanks for your feedback, and I hope the next update will make FtCG smoother to use for you.
I'm just wondering whether you've tried out Fastily's MTC! tool? I've heard it's the next big thing in Commons transfer tools, and I haven't tried it myself yet), so I'm curious to know what people think. — This, that and the other (talk) 06:44, 31 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Windows Store[edit]

@This, that and the other: Would you consider listing this program on the Windows Store (https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/bridges/desktop)? It would prevent the need to reinstall the app after each reboot and avoid users seeing a message stating that the program may be unsafe. Daylen (talk) 23:17, 27 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Not working for me as of 15 December 2019[edit]

@This, that and the other: Not working for me as of 15 December 2019. – Illegitimate Barrister (talkcontribs), 10:55, 15 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Illegitimate Barrister: That's unfortunate. Can you give some more information? What isn't working specifically? Do you see errors? Please ping me in any responses. This, that and the other (talk) 11:42, 15 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@This, that and the other: Well, when I put in a file name into the respective field and click "Go" nothing shows up or happens like it used to a few months ago. Not only that, if I click "Random file" a box that says "Loading" shows up but hangs indefinitely. My log-in information is correct and I've run the program in administrator mode, so I don't know what the problem could be. – Illegitimate Barrister (talkcontribs), 10:21, 19 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I know this comment is probably not particularly useful, but I'll just second what IB has said above as I appear to be having similar issues as well. Hiàn (talk) 04:58, 23 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Cannot transfer files from Russian Wikipedia[edit]

@This, that and the other: At the beginning of this year, it is impossible to transfer files from Russian Wikipedia to Wikimedia Commons. . When you try to select a random file, the template "The Internet request is not completed. The basic connection is closed: An unexpected error occurred while transferring." Could you see what’s the matter? Sorry for such an English language! Respectfully, Dogad75 (talk) 15:43, 21 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Illegitimate Barrister, Hiàn, and Dogad75: Sorry to keep some of you waiting for so long for this fix. Hopefully the issues have been resolved in version 1.2, which I have just put out. I have had to upgrade the version of .NET Framework used by FtCG to version 4.6.1, which you might need to install yourself if you are using an older version of Windows. Please let me know if you have any further issues with version 1.2 of FtCG. This, that and the other (talk) 04:12, 23 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@This, that and the other: Thank you very much! The program works. Windows 8.1. Respectfully, --Dogad75 (talk) 18:44, 28 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
