Speedy deletion nomination of Gerard Fortune[edit]

Hello Wallesem,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Gerard Fortune for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

  • Hi - I received a notification about this. It looks like the article has been expanded and the deletion tag removed, however the main thing to be careful about is that the article originally was very short and didn't really have a lot in it. It was also sourced by a primary source, which can back up basic details but not really show notability. You've got to be very careful when creating articles - I know that this was created as part of an edit-a-thon, however the article really needs to be sourced enough to establish notability.
For artists what you need are things like coverage of their artwork in places like academic texts, newspapers, and the like. Local papers are fine, but they tend to be depreciated since local sources are more likely to cover local people. If you can show that their work is housed in a very major repository (state or national museums or other repositories with articles on here can often establish this), that can also help establish notability, as can being the main person in an exhibition at a facility like that. (This type of thing will definitely meet notability guidelines on that alone.) I added a quick source to the article for one exhibition, but he wasn't the main artist. It should count towards some notability, though. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 15:56, 26 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

A goat for you![edit]

You rock, so here's a Goat!!!!!!!

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Jenevieve Aken requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Toasted Bagel's Peer Review[edit]

Hello,

I have reviewed your article on Jenevieve Aken. I am very impressed that you have created this article on your own from the ground up. I think that she is definitely a notable person and am so glad you could make such a substantial addition to Wiki. I think there might be a few issues with the flow of your sentences overall, but that is something that is easily fixed. I think some images of her work could be very helpful for this article, though I understand that it may be difficult to find copyright free images of a living artist's work. I am also unsure why some parts of your article are Italicized and bolded,as it seems a little unnecessary. Overall, though, I really appreciate your attention to detail! I can tell that you have put a lot of work into this article, Great Job!

A Peer Review for you on Grad Day!!!!!!!!!! :D[edit]

Your contributions to Environmental issues in Africa are great. It's very interesting how Africa is a HUGE continent and how issues in different parts are very different. I like how you included information about both rural regions and industrialized regions. How they both may have environmental issues but for different reasons. If there is a picture of the environment in Africa in the Wikimedia commons I would add it to the article to make it more visual appealing. The article is very educational! Deletion discussion about Magda Magloire[edit]

Hello, Toastedbagel,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Magda Magloire should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Magda Magloire .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Thanks,
