WikiProject Australian literature is a collaboration space and central forum for editors dedicated to improving Wikipedia's coverage of Australian literature. Relevant articles will be categorised so they can be easily accessed for assessment and cleanup, gaps in coverage of core topics will be identified, and resources will be available to help improve article quality. If you're interested in Australian writers and writing (fiction or non-fiction, poetry or prose, high brow or pop) and would like to see Wikipedia become an excellent source of information about Australian literature, join in and Be Bold!. The project acts as a joint general literature and narrative prose "work group"/"task force" of the Wikipedia:WikiProject Australia and the Wikipedia:WikiProject Novels.

General goals[edit]

  • To coordinate and improve articles related to Australian literature;
  • To foster collaboration between editors in the Australian literature and other literature projects;
  • To establish appropriate linkages with the Wikipedia Australia project and portal;
  • To ascertain and identify the Australian literature component of other Wikipedia projects;
  • To seek peer review and collaboration of editors in other Wikipedia projects.

Specific goals[edit]

To encourage coverage of historical and contemporary Australian literature to give balance to historical and contemporary contexts.

To improve iconic and high-profile Australian literature articles to GA and FA quality.

  • People: Writers, dramatists, essayists, poets.
  • History: Australian regional and State and territory literary histories. Nineteenth century Australian literary history, Twentieth century Australian literary history.
  • Genres: Novels, Short Stories, Poetry, Plays, Essays.
  • Controversies: Fraud, Hoaxes, Critical,
