Wikipedia:Featured articles that haven't been on the Main Page/Date connection

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A list of Featured Articles with a date connection that have not already appeared on the Main Page. It is intended primarily as an aid to scheduling their appearance. Anniversaries in multiples of 5 are marked in bold; anniversaries in multiples of 25 are highlighted. Note that having a date connection, even a strong one on a major anniversary, is not a guarantee for appearance. In many cases it is not a primary consideration – various factors need to be considered when selecting articles, including (but not limited to), the quality of the article, how long it has been waiting, the importance of the topic, representation on the main page and article diversity. Several of the older Featured Articles fall short of current quality requirements and, with an ever-increasing number to choose from, may never appear on the Front Page without an extensive reworking.

The dates mentioned here may not be the only possible date connections for an article — a ship, for example, might have date connections for its launch, commissioning, sinking etc. Nor does the appearance of an article here mean that it will – or will only – appear on the given date.

All articles within Category:Featured articles that have not appeared on the main page should either appear here or at the page listing articles without date connections.
