Speedy keep+close, Invalid reason for deletion. Firstly, this file is on the Commons and it not within the scope of IFD. Secondly, we are not censored. We will not remove images due to personal tastes. ViperSnake151 11:47, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: deleted. Fails WP:NFCC#2. Using the image here competes with the commercial interests of Encarta from which the image was sourced. Fails WP:NFCC3a. The image was used in 6 articles. -Nv8200ptalk 00:18, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Image from Encarta used as fair use. Hardly seems fair per both counterexamples (press photo used to discuss the event depicted), and the fact we compete economically with encarta. Image conveys nothing that text would not. Megapixie (talk) 13:59, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Do we have a similar pic from another source? For now, we don't have a similar pic that describes the event, even if it is nonfree. -iaNLOPEZ1115 ·TaLKBaCK ·Vandalize it 11:28, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That has nothing to do with it. We compete economically with the creator and source of the image making it not fair-use per LAW. If we didn't have an article about a particular fish - would it be okay to copy the one from Encarta ? Megapixie (talk) 01:40, 17 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: delete. The image fails WP:NFCC#8. There is no commentary in the article that makes the image significant to the article. -Nv8200ptalk 00:24, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Disputed it because it was of a "Living person, so the image is obviously replaceable. The image itself is fairly useless as an image as a huge group shot that is not mentioned at all cannot be argued fair use." The response from User:A Sniper was "it is a 17 year old historical promotional photo showing the article subject with clients. Photo was for promotional purposes related to a musical tour, published by a now-defunct magazine, easily within fair use." A picture of a living person with his clients is not appropriate fair use. With all due respect, despite the fact that the article subject is living (re: WP:BLP), the bulk of the subject's work of notoriety occurred during a specific period of time that the photo encapsulates. As a publicity photograph for a music tour, published in a magazine long since out of business, I feel it qualifies for fair use and that its notices are proper and correct. Some of the gentlemen in the photograph were the subject's clients, including one famous individual within that musical genre, Chuck Schuldiner, who has been deceased since 2001. I would also note that the page this photo is associated with has recently begun a rebuild from scratch, therefore the relevant information within the article that fits with the photo hasn't necessarily been put back. Image isn't essential for understanding the article. Could be conveyed simply with the words, he acted as tour manager for the bands X,Y and Z. Megapixie (talk) 01:43, 17 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Despite rationale, image is not discussed in the article Frank Sinatra, save for its caption. No critical commentary present. — pd_THOR|=/\= | 19:42, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Not fair use. Would be fair use only in an article about the image itself or on a page about the graphic artist in question. Megapixie (talk) 01:46, 17 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
