Pediaphon is a free service created by Andreas Bischoff. It generates MP3 audio files from Wikipedia articles by using speech synthesis. These files can be played in a web browser or downloaded to be played on a portable device. Developed at the University of Hagen as a contribution to WikiProject Spoken Wikipedia, the service was realized by use of FreeSpeech, MBROLA, and the MP3-Encoder LAME. External links Pediaphon
