Wikipedia:We CAN'T cover them all

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A major disappointment for a lot of folks with Wikipedia is that what is important to them is dismissed by Wikipedia editors curtly as failing "notability" requirements. The underlying problem is that we live on a big planet, with a lot of human beings on it (estimated 7,099,387,680 as of 00:01 GMT April 1, 2011). There are a lot of good (and interestingly bad) people, noble (and ignoble) organizations, promising bands, up and coming little businesses, etc. We can't cover them all. The English-language Wikipedia alone already has 6,804,370 articles, with more coming every day.
