WikiProject Cartoon Network is a WikiProject dedicated to improving and expanding the coverage of Cartoon Network-related articles. Cartoon Network is an animation-oriented television channel owned by Turner Broadcasting System. Originally debuting in the United States on October 1, 1992, the network has since launched international sister channels under the same brand. This page and its subpages contain, among other things, guidelines, suggestions, article quality information, a member list, a help page, and a list of articles deemed to be within the scope of this project.

Scope[edit]
- The project covers all Cartoon Network related-articles, including the main network in the United States and various other networks internationally, such as their original animated series (including Cartoon Cartoons), productions made by Cartoon Network Studios, the Adult Swim programing block (under the Adult Swim task force), and related media. However, we acknowledge and are grateful for the work of other projects in the field, and will reserve the majority of our attention to that content which does not fall within the scope of other active projects.
- It does not cover off-network shows, anime series and programming outside Cartoon Network (except Powerpuff Girls Z).
- It does not extend to programming which is purchased by Cartoon Network to air but has no involvement from them or to programming made by Warner Bros. Animation.
- It has a strict policy against trivia, "...in popular culture" and otherwise crufty issues, either as sections or whole articles.
Goals[edit]
- Identify and categorize existing Cartoon Network-related articles
- Identify and create new Cartoon Network-related articles
- Improve or maintain the quality of Cartoon Network-related articles
- Expand, improve, and maintain Wikipedia's coverage of Cartoon Network-related articles
- Develop standards for what is required for Cartoon Network-related articles for consistency and best practices
- Ensure articles meet Wikipedia's minimum standards and policies, including WP:N, WP:NOR, WP:OWN, WP:V and WP:NPOV
- Develop and improve standardized tables, tags, and categorization schemes for articles
- Bring every Cartoon Network-related article up to GA, FA and/or FL status
- Reduce or remove trivial information, speculation, fancruft, and anything else that violates WP:WAF, WP:N, WP:PLOT, WP:V, WP:CRYSTAL, WP:MOSTV, WP:FICT, and WP:TRIV
- Verify and validate content
- Maintain category lists
Structure[edit]
- Assessment department - The assessment department valuates the quality and importance of Cartoon Network related articles.
- General discussion forum - Post your questions, comments, and concerns to this helpful and friendly talk page. This is the central page to visit for general discussion of the project. You can see what other editors are working on, ask questions, and keep track of the project's progress.
- Help - A help page with search option, tips and tools for contributing to Cartoon Network articles.
- Recognized content - The page includes Featured content and good articles, as well as DYK, featured pictures and topics etc.
- Resources – This page lists some Cartoon Network-related references to aid in sourcing your edits of Cartoon Network-related articles.
- Style guide - The recommendations advice explains proper grammar and formatting for Cartoon Network articles. Although it is not an official Wikipedia policy or guideline, though it may be consulted for assistance.

Guidelines[edit]
This guideline tries to help editors improve the quality of Wikipedia's articles within scope of Cartoon Network related articles. For Wikipedia guidelines regarding how to write about fiction in general, see Wikipedia:Notability (fiction) and Wikipedia:Manual of Style (writing about fiction). These are only guidelines and may be altered depending on current Wikipolicies and/or project participant consensus. Remember, these are guidelines, not policies. Most of these guidelines are accepted as standard practice across Wikipedia. All the standard Wikipedia policies still apply.
- No fancruft in articles
- Make sure more than one editor is working on any one article or collection of related articles.
- Do not speculate any rumors. Wikipedia is not a crystal ball.
- Revert war (adherence to the One Revert Rule is encouraged, see WP:WAR for details.)
- No original research
- Neutral point of view

Checklinks[edit]
Checklinks is a tool whih allows editors to verify reflinks and external links for linkrot. We use an automated version to create a list of articles that have issues. The list of articles are available here. The list is updated monthly.
Watchlist[edit]
The WikiProject Cartoon Network maintains a watchlist for all articles tagged as within our scope. The list is like your own watchlist but much larger. It lists every article tagged by us, and may also be helpful if a normal alphabetical list is needed. It is updated automatically by bot, so manual changes are not required.
