This page documents the new combined WikiProject Food and Drink banner templates.

The purpose of this new banner system is threefold:

  1. It unifies the disparate food and drink related projects under a single banner;
  2. It leaves the talk pages less cluttered, instead of two or three multiple banners, there is just a single one;
  3. It simplifies the classification and rating systems allowing a single editor to classify the articles for three projects.

Additionally, the new system will allow project-ratings for when needed. EG, an article's subject may be of low importance to the Food and Drink project as a whole, however it may be of high importance to the Beer or Wine projects. This feature is not activated at this time, but can be if needed.

The banner currently supports the following projects:

  • Food & Drink WikiProject
    • Foodservice task force
    • Cheeses task force
    • Herbs & Spices task force
  • Soft Drinks WikiProject
    • Coffee & Tea task force
  • Beer WikiProject
  • Wine WikiProject
  • Mixed Drinks WikiProject
    • Bartending task force

Currently class and importance will be inherited from the WP Food assessments for the article. The banner can be modified to allow separate Project specific assessments if needed.

If any one wishes to add another related project, please use the talk page.

Assessment tags -
  • Class parameter - this switch supports all article class assessments defined in Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Assessment guide. See the Food and Drink Assessments page for a full description.
  • Importance parameter - this switch supports all article importance assessments defined in Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Assessment guide. See the Food and Drink Assessments page for a full description.
  • Nested parameter - Used when multiple banners are displayed on a talk page. Will collapse the banner down to a single line with the name of the project and any task forces if the project specific tags are used. It can be used alone or in association with {{WikiProjectBanners}} or {{WikiProjectBannerShell}}.
  • Attention parameter - use this switch sparingly on those article most in need of work.
  • Needs-photo parameter - Used to mark those articles that are in need of a photo to improve the article quality. "A picture is worth a thousand words"
