Jijé[edit]

Jijé is the father of the Marcinelle school, a huge influence (as teacher and friend) on André Franquin, Morris, Jean Giraud, Jean-Claude Mézières, Will and many others, he is the only author to have won the major comics prizes from France, Belgium and the Netherlands, and he has had a museum dedicated to him in Brussels, and his works have been collected in seventeen volumes twenty years after his death; but he has for the moment a very short article. There is (at least in French) a lot of published, reliable info on his life and work (although the French wikipedia article is even shorter), so I think we can make this a whole lot better.
