Trick My Truck is an American reality television program that premiered on February 3, 2006, on CMT. Created by Varuna Films, the series features a group of vehicle hackers known as the "Chrome Shop Mafia" who renovate the trucks of "deserving" drivers in response to letters and calls from family and friends.
Premise
[edit]Each episode begins with the "Chrome Shop Mafia", a group of seasoned vehicle body shop mechanics, playing or having fun. Their foreman interrupts them and tells them about a trucker who deserves to have their truck (primarily a tractor unit) "tricked". A story narrated by the trucker's loved ones is told. The crew agrees to "trick" the truck, which they locate. They surprise the trucker, tell them about the stories from their loved ones, and take their truck to the shop; the trucker is given a loaner truck from J. B. Hunt to drive in the meantime. At the shop, the truck is remodeled completely, usually with customized designs on a specific theme, electronics enhancements, and mechanical upgrades to tires, exhaust pipes, etc. At the end of each episode, the trucker goes to the shop and is given a tour of their "tricked" truck.
In addition to tractor units, the crew has "tricked" pickup trucks and various specialty trucks such as dump trucks and an ice cream truck.
