Amandine Giardino (born 30 March 1995 in La Seyne-sur-Mer) is a French volleyball player. She plays as a libero for Neptunes de Nantes She competed at the 2024 Summer Olympics.[1][2]

Career

Having played for all the French youth teams, she made her debut in the French A team in the summer of 2016, but she was delayed by a foot injury in 2017. In 2018, she had her first international match as a starter against Hungary. In 2019, she was included in the list of 14 players called up by coach Émile Rousseaux for 2019 Women's European Volleyball Championship. She was part of the French team that achieved the feat of reaching the quarter-finals of the 2021 Women's European Volleyball Championship.[3][dead link][4]

In 2013, Amandine Giardino signed with Saint-Raphaël. She then became a libero after having played receiver-attacker when she was younger. During this first season in the second division , she won the Coupe de France fédérale and moved up to Ligue A. In the 2014 off-season, she moved to Cannet. She played little there but learned a lot with a team that won the Coupe de France 2015 .

The following year, she signed with AS Saint-Raphaël , a club that wa relegated the previous season. She began her first year as the only French starter with a team composed mainly of foreign players and which qualified for the play-offs, in seventh position, winning only ten matches out of 22 in the regular season . At the end of the season, she won an unexpected title of French champion in 2016 , in a final full of twists and turns against RC Cannes. After her three-season stint in Raphaël, she chose in 2018 to go back and sign with her former club Le Cannet In 2021 , she signed for Pays d'Aix Venelles. In November 2021, she tested positive for Covid-19 and had to remain in isolation.[5]

In March 2023, she signed a two-season contract with the Neptunes de Nantes. She was captain of the team during the 2023-2024 season. She finished as a finalist in the Challenge Cup (C3) against the Italian team AGIL Novare . On 30 March 2024, on her 29th birthday, she won the Coupe de France final, against Volley Mulhouse Alsace .[6]
