Baby John is an upcoming soundtrack album composed by Thaman S for 2024 upcoming Hindi language action thriller film of the same name, written and directed by Kalees and produced by Atlee, starring Varun Dhawan. Irshad Kamil, Pream penned the lyrics of the songs.
Development and production
[edit]Thaman S composed the soundtrack and background score.[1] Irshad Kamil was roped in to penned the lyrics of the songs. Thaman will be making solo Hindi debut through this track.
The first single "Nain Matakka" was announced on 21st November 2024. The glimpse and teaser was released on 22nd and 23rd of November respectively. The release date was set to release on 25th November 2024.[2] Punjabi Singer Diljit Dosanjh and Australian Singer Dheekshitha Venkadeshan (Dhee) were roped in to sing the lead vocals.[3] The song features Varun Dhawan and Keerthy Suresh with Dosanjh making a special appearance in the song.[4] This will mark Dhee’s maiden debut in Bollywood. The filming started around the end of film’s shooting which wrapped up in April 2024 and the song’s production and second part of the filming started in 6 November. The song was recorded in Kerala. Choreography was done by Shobi Master. The song was made to show the romantic chemistry between Dhawan and Keerthy. "Nain Matakka" promised to be the ultimate dance anthem and a foot tapping, peppy number.[5]
The second single "Bandobast Hai" hasn’t been announced or no release date announced yet.
On September 2024 through social media, Indian singer Shreya Ghoshal had come on board for a song.[6] On social media, a photo of Dhawan and Keerthy was leaked where they were shooting a romantic song.[7]
Release
[edit]The film’s audio rights were acquired by Zee Music Company. Baby John's soundtrack featured two songs: "Nain Matakka" and "Bandobast Hai".
The first single "Nain Matakka" was released on 25 November.[8] The second single "Bandobast Hai" has not been released or no release date has been announced.

Impact
[edit]After the song "Nain Matakka" was released in November 2024, the hook step that was choreographed by Shobi Paulraj and was performed by Dhawan and Keerthy went viral before it was released. The hook step was shown in the promo.[9][10] The song referred as the dance anthem.[11][12] The track gathered 25+ Million Views on YouTube in 24 hours becoming one of the most trending Hindi viewed songs in 24 hours. On all music platforms, the track gathered more than 34+ million views.
