Dickinson Financial Corporation is a multi-bank holding company for Academy Bank and Armed Forces Bank. It is family-owned and headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri.[1][2]

History

In 1990, Bank Midwest started.[3]

In 1997, Armed Forces Bank[4] and Armed Forces Bank of California started.[5]

In 2001, Bank Midwest expanded under Dickinson.[6]

In 2005, Academy Bank started.[7]

In 2007, Dickinson announced potential SunBank in the Phoenix, Arizona area.[8]

In 2010, Bank Midwest's traditional locations were sold to NBH Holdings.[9] Dickinson retained Bank Midwest's Walmart locations, and rebranded them as Armed Forces Bank locations.[3]

In 2015, Dickinson underwent a consolidation. SunBank and Southern Commerce Bank were merged into Academy Bank, and Armed Forces Bank of California was merged into Armed Forces Bank. 25 branches located in Walmart stores were transferred from Armed Forces Bank to Academy Bank.[10][11]
