About album[edit]

MSI B-SIDES vol. 1 is a compilation album. It was released by Mindless Self Indulgence on June 20th 2024. It includes 13 remasters of their not as well known songs. It was uploaded first to YouTube [1] via Distrokid, then it came to Spotify[2] later the same day (it is not yet on any other streaming services).

About the tracks[edit]

  1. "3S'" is 2 minutes and 30 seconds long. It was originally on the released on the 2010 EP <3[3] as the 1st track, just like it is the 1st track on this album. This version notably has louder instrumental than the original version and has new guitar parts added in. You can also notice that Jimmy Urine’s[4] screaming is different than the original, and he makes a sound as it fades into the outro that wasn't in the original version either.
  2. "Sex for Homework" is 3 minutes and 14 seconds long. It was originally on the Kickstarter Exclusive CD of How I Learned to Stop Giving a Shit and Love Mindless Self Indulgence[5], which released in 2013. There are no new changes to this track, other than it sounding clearer than the original version.
  3. "Eat Those Words" is 3 minutes and 37 seconds long. It was originally on the 2013 single It Gets Worse.[6] That single had 3 tracks, those 3 tracks being "It Gets Worse", "Eat Those Words" and "You Will See Just What I See". It sounds the same as the original single version. Though, 2/3 of the songs from that single were taken off of all streaming platforms in September of 2023[7]
  4. "Seven Minutes in Heaven" is 2 minutes and 13 seconds long. It was originally on the tour exclusive CD version of How I Learned to Stop Giving a Shit and Love Mindless Self Indulgence,[8] which was available for purchase at various concerts on their tour in 2013-2014. There are no new changes to this track.
  5. "Frying Pan" is 2 minutes and 48 seconds long. It was originally the 3rd track on the 2006 EP Another Mindless Rip Off.[9]. There are no new changes to this track.
  6. "Prove Me Wrong" is 3 minutes and 59 seconds long. Like "3S'", it was released on the 2010 EP <3 as the 4th track. There are no new changes to this track.
  7. "Rip Off" is 1 minutes and 46 seconds long. It was originally released as a live version on the 2002 album Alienating Our Audience[10] as the 9th track, and as a studio version on the album exclusively on iTunes and the 2017 [11] and 2022 [12] vinyl re-release of You'll Rebel To Anything. This version has the female vocals changed for the "1 2 3 4" part of the song, there are no changes other than that.
  8. "Disappoint" is 2 minutes and 30 seconds long. Much like "Rip Off", it was originally released on side D of the 2017 and 2022 vinyl re-release of You'll Rebel To Anything. The only change to this track is that the sound of it is far clearer than you could get anywhere else.
  9. "Last Gay Song" is 2 minutes and 17 seconds long. It was originally released as a live version on the 2002 album Alienating our Audience, and the studio version was later released as an extra track to the Kickstarter Digital Deluxe in 2013 of the album How I Learned to Stop Giving a Shit and Love Mindless Self Indulgence. [13] There are no new changes to this track.
  10. "GENIUZ" is 2 minutes and 30 seconds long. Much like 3S' and Prove Me Wrong, it was originally released on the 2010 EP <3. It was originally released on that EP under the title "Genius",[14] and it was the 6th track on the EP. This track has a completely new, and very loud drum beat. While the rest of track other than the bit with the screaming sounds a bit quieter than the original did.
  11. "My World" is 3 minutes and 19 seconds long. It was originally released as a demo on the 2010 EP <3, then re-released as a full version on the 2006 EP Another Mindless Rip Off. The demo version also was released as the 7th track on the single (IT'S 3AM) ISSUES.[15] The version on this album is the Another Mindless Rip Off version, and has no new changes.
  12. "Lush" is 2 minutes and 37 seconds long. Like "Frying Pan" and "My World", it was released on the 2006 EP Another Mindless Rip Off as the 4th track. There are no new changes to this track.
  13. "You Will See Just What I See" is 2 minutes and 55 seconds long. Like stated earlier, it was originally released on the 2013 It Gets Worse single that had been removed from streaming platforms in September of 2023. Just like "Rip Off" and "Disappoint", it also was on side D of the 2017 and 2022 vinyl re-release of You'll Rebel To Anything.
