They are naturally very self-respecting, religious, and are historically famous for their bravery and martial skills.

Historical Background

- If we look at history, literature, and folklore, then Raja Satyadev, who was a powerful king of the Rathore clan, along with his five sons and associates, settled down in Mahunji village of Dhanapur Chandauli in UP after the Battle of Khanwa (1527) due to the atrocities of the invaders and by following the path shown by Maa Bhavani.

- After a few years, Satyadev's fifth son Nisankhdev's two sons Phiningidev and Lakhandev were traveling in the Chainpur kingdom. Impressed by their bravery in a situation during the journey, the king of Chainpur, Sharivahan, asked both the brothers for help in the war since at that time, King Sharivahan was fighting with the Kashi Naresh. With the help of both the brothers, Sharivahan was victorious. King Sharivahan asked both the brothers to accept sixty villages as a gift, and both the brave princes accepted it.

Present Situation

- Although the Madvarh clan is not confined to only sixty villages in the present time, due to the expansion of the clan over time, this clan is now spread over more than 150 villages including Poorvanchal and Bihar.

Political Influence

- The Madvarh clan has a very good political influence in many districts of Poorvanchal and Bihar.

Establishment of the Kuladevi Dham

- The former head of the Department of Psychology at GB College, Dr. JP Singh, tells that the idol of the Madvarh clan's Kuladevi Mata Naganecchi Bhagwati, which King Satyadev had brought with him, was established by King Satyadev's fifth son Nisankhdev's two sons Phiningidev and Lakhandev on the western bank of Motinaj Pond in a forest called 'Chhera'.

Over time, due to being established in the 'Chhera' forest, Mata Naganecchi Bhagwati became famous as Maa Chheravari.

It is said that the glory of the Goddess is immense. No one goes empty-handed from her court. On the ninth day of the month of Chaitra, people from all the villages of the Madvarh-Rathore clan reach the Dham and offer flags to the Goddess.

- There is also a temple of Maa Naganecchi Bhagwati (Mata Chheravari) in Bikaner and Mehrangarh Fort.
