Draft:Michael W. Landsberg

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
  • Comment: Draft fails to describe why this person is notable. It reads like a CV or LinkedIn profile, not a biography of someone that has achieved notability - there are no references to significant (in-depth, extensive) coverage of him in reliable, independent, secondary sources with a reputation for accuracy and fact-checking (the existing citations are mainly routine or passing mentions in business publications). If there is no significant coverage, he has no place in Wikipedia. Paul W (talk) 12:14, 21 February 2024 (UTC)
  • Comment: There are both numerous unsourced statements, and insufficient sourcing to establish notability.

  • Comment: Some of the new sources added might be independent but none of them show significant coverage (not just passing mentions). It's better to have a few (three or four) very good sources than a lot of sources that verify one fact at a time, an article with only the latter type of source will almost never be accepted. • Comment: One thing to note is that we often use secondary sources to decide how much to write about parts of a subject, because they can be more general. For example, in a biographical article for person X there may be thing A and thing B to cover. If most secondary sources cover thing B in great detail and thing A significantly less, we would tend to follow the sources. This is not possible for closely associated sources that mostly just verify one or two very specific facts. There are other reasons that are just as, or even more important (otherwise we could just republish what the subject has written about themselves) but none of the sources seem to have significant enough coverage to fulfil that role well.
