Tyler James Walker (born April 10, 1989) is an American football coach and former player from Hamilton, Ohio.[1] Walker is currently the Offensive coordinator for the Montana State Bobcats. Walker was named Offensive Coordinator in January of 2023, following the departure of Taylor Housewright.[2] Before being named Offensive Coordinator, Walker Coached Montana State's tight ends and fullbacks in 2022-23, producing one of the most dynamic and accomplished position groups in the FCS. Seniors Derryk Snell - at fullback - and Treyton Pickering - tight end - each earned 1st Team All-Big Sky honors, with Snell snagging 1st Team All-America honors from Phil Steele.[3] [4]
Coaching career
[edit]Walker began his coaching career at Miami (Ohio) as a graduate assistant, working with receivers in 2014 and defensive linemen in 2015. He coached receivers and coordinated the pass game at Davenport University in 2016, becoming receivers coach/pass game coordinator at Grand Rapids (Michigan) Central Catholic High School in 2017. He came to MSU after three years at NCAA Division III Muskingum (Ohio), where he worked as defensive backs coach and special teams coordinator in 2018-19[5] and defensive coordinator in 2020.
