This image is not based on an experimental structure determination, but a search of the CSD for 1-fluoroalkyl groups returned crystal structures with a variety of fluoroalkyl conformations. The conformation chosen here is one in which the atoms C3–C2–C1–F are all coplanar, with C3–C2 and C1–F bonds antiperiplanar. Image generated in Accelrys DS Visualizer. |
