« La photo est prise par le journaliste Roger Champoux quelques heures après le drame. Ce 25 avril 1944, à 10 h 26 le matin, le bombardier B-24 Liberator Consolidated s’est écrasé dans le quartier de Griffintown. Les cinq membres d’équipage ont péri. Quatorze logis ouvriers au coin sud-ouest des rues Shannon et Ottawa ont volé en éclat. Les réservoirs d’hydrocarbures de l’appareil ont explosé, créant une onde de choc digne d’un tremblement de terre et un incendie considérable. Rapidement appelés, les pompiers ont mis des heures à maîtriser le brasier. »

This is not 189 Colborne, it is an address on Shannon at the corner of Ottawa Street. I was there that day in St Ann's Boys School at the age of 8 years, about 100 metres from this photo. I will never forget.
