Summary

Description

In 1904, William and Gustav Schacht were operating a small carriage shop building buggies and farm wagons in Ohio, USA. They decided to mount a 10hp engine to one of their buggies and their first motorcar was born. In a day when the motorcar was steered with a tiller, the Schacht used a steering wheel. Leaf suspension and sturdy wheels gave the Schacht a smooth ride. They produced 8000 cars. Engine; 8hp 2285cc 2 cylinder
