Summary

Description

Made in: Meriden (near Coventry) Engine size: 150cc Engine format: Single cylinder 4-stroke ohv Price new: 125

"Triumph introduced the T15 Terrier in 1953 in an attempt to attract more younger rider. This lightweight motorcycle, fitted with a 150cc engine, was an ideal first motorcycle for men, who would later want to ride larger and more powerful machines. The Terrier was also well capable of carrying a passenger but more importantly, fitted nicely in the below 150cc Road Tax bracket. Triumph were also gaining more of a fashionable reputation with many of their machines being featured on screen. Perhaps there is no surprise that he Terrier was placed on the market the same year that Marlon Brando starred in The Wild One, famously riding a Triumph motorcycle. Another good move by Triumph was the styling of the terrier - made to look like a small Speed-Twin it was finished in the same trademark colour. The Terrier was the first model under 200cc to be built be Triumph since their 150cc XO series in 1934. It was built until 1956, when it was superseded by the highly acclaimed 200cc Tiger Club.
