Summary

Description

The Chrysler Corporation was founded in 1925. In 1928, Chrysler expanded, he established Plymouth and DeSoto brands and also acquired Fargo Trucks and Dodge Brothers Motors and started selling vehicles under those names. 1957 saw the new forward look design with dramatically lower bodies, crisp thin-section rooflines, acres more glass, and lean dart-shaped profiles with soaring tailfins. Five models were now available; The base model was still the Windsor The mid spec model was the Saratoga The upmarket model was the New Yorker The high performance model was the 300C 2 door Hardtop. From 1955, the long Wheelbase Imperial was marketed under its own brand, not using the Chrysler name, it was available in base Custom, mid range Crown and top LeBaron. A convertible was available for the first time as well as 2 and 4 door Hardtops and 4 door Sedan. It featured a 'biplane' front bumper and a full-width egg crate grille. Tall tailfins, gunsight taillights downward tapering decklid. Early in the year, they had single headlamps, quad headlamps were optional where state regulations permitted them. Single headlamps dropped later in the year.
