In 1971 high back seats were introduced.
In 1972 Honeycomb wheels were introduced.
In 1973 new heavy crash absorbing bumpers were added, the new egg crate grille didn't look recessed as much
In 1974 the Firebird got the new shovel nose.
The Trans Am was a specialty package for the Firebird, typically upgrading handling, suspension, and horsepower, as well as minor appearance modifications such as exclusive hoods, spoilers, fog lights and wheels
