Description
English: This 1974 AMC Matador Penske-Allison race car was finished in the AMC NASCAR livery and has sponsor identification. It is an early serial number, pre-production Matador coupe built by American Motors Corporation (AMC) in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Bobby Allison owned this car for over 35 years. Initially, AMC sent it to Penske-Allison and used it as a show car. It carries the #12 used while he was driving the AMC under his Bobby Allison Motorsports organization (Penske Racing were #16 and #2). This race car was loaned for display at the 2024 annual American Motors Owners Association convention. Some of the documentation for this car is on the hood. The mannequin displays the AMC logoed uniforms the pit and support crews wear.
  • These pictures were taken during the American Motors Owners Association (AMO) annual convention in June 2024, organized by the Potomac Ramblers Club. Most events were held at the Keystone Truck and Tractor Museum in Petersburg, Virginia.
  • Note: there are a total of 18 photographs of this race car (numbered starting from 0 to 17 because I make a numbering error).
