The VX Commodore was built from October 2000- Sept 2002. The VX was a minor update on the VT, revised headlamp and taillamps, Safety and fuel economy was improved. The Berlina and Calais got a unique full width grille and angular headlights. Models available; Executive, Acclaim, Berlina, Calais, S and SS The V2 2 door Monaro was introduced in 2001. HSV also built performance sedans based on Holdens, available were; XU6, Clubsport, R8, GTS, Senator and Grange. The top of the line Commodore based VX Senator (the Grange was Statesman based) was available in 2 models, the Signature and limited edition Senator 300. The Signature got 17-inch alloys wheels, 10 disc CD changer, dual-zone climate control, power adjustable driver’s seat, leather upholstery, cruise control, fog lights, central locking, power windows and mirrors, a trip computer and an immobiliser. The Senator 300 was distinguished by 18-inch ‘Chrome Shadow’ alloys, Shale leather seats, rear parking sensors and a woodgrain instrument surround.
