Summary

Description
Tagalog: Pambansang Alagad ng Sining, Pintor at Myuralista. Isa sa mga nagsulong ng Istilong Modernismo at Myuralismo sa Pilipinas. Isinilang sa Angono, Rizal, 4 Nobyembre 1912. Nag-aral sa Unibersidad ng Pilipinas, 1930-1935. Naging tagaguhit ng Philippine Herald at Manila Tribune; Naging katuwang ni Victorio Edades kasama si Galo Ocampo sa pagpinta ng myural na "Rising PhilippineS," 1934.

Nagturo sa Unibersidad ng Santo Tomas, 1938. Nagwagi ng gintong gantimpala para sa mga obra na "Angelus" at "Kaingin." Nakasama ni Manuel Conde sa produksyon ng ilang mga pelikula kabilang ang pamosong "Genghis Khan." Binuo ang "Angono Ateliers" sa kanyang pagbabalik sa Angono, 1953.

Sa parehong taon, itinampok ang obrang "Five Hundred Years of Philippine History" sa First International Fair sa Maynila na nailathala sa pahayagang Newsweek. Pinarangalan bilang "Most Outstanding Alumni" ng Unibersidad ng Pilipinas, 1954. Ginawaran ng "Republic Cultural Heritage Award," 1964.

Ilan sa mga tanyag na obra ay ang "Filipino Struggles Through History," "Pageant of Commerce," at "First Mass in the Philippines," Sa Bahay na ito nasilayan ang kanyang mga huling sandali at pagpanaw, 31 Marso 1969. Iginawad ang Orden ng Pambansang Alagad ng Sining para sa Sining Biswal, 1973.
