Number 11 has been in the news quite a lot in 2014, as there were plans to turn the 19th century house into a 30-seater bistro restaurant, provisionally called On The Green. It would have had only limited access and facilities for disabled customers (<i>The Comet,</i>27 February 2014). There were also concerns that a restaurant would not be appropriate for the residential end of the High Street (<i>The Comet</i>, 20 March 2014). Residents held a protest outside the building, and there was further concern that English Heritage had not been consulted, and the plans called for the demolision of two load-bearing walls, plus neighbours had not been informed of the planning application. SBC agreed to consult EH (<i>The Comet</i>, 27 March 2014). I've heard no news after this - the target determination date was 10 April.
