English: "Abdurrarzak, the subject of this photograph, is a descendant of an ancient King of Botan in Kurdistan, who in 1262 was defeated and captured by the Turks. He has been secretary of the Turkish embassy at Petrograd and master of ceremonies at Constantinople and is now in the military service the Czar hoping to regain the Kingdom of Botan."
