  • English: Modern inscription in Ancient Greek on the Beulé Gate at the Acropolis of Athens. The text reeads: "Η ΓΑΛΛΙΑ, ΤΗΝ ΠΥΛΗN ΤΗΣ ΑΚΡΟΠΟΛΕΩΣ, ΤΑ ΤΕΙΧΗ ΤΟΥ ΠΥΡΓΟΥ, ΚΑΙ ΤΗΝ ΑΝΑΒΑΣΙΝ, ΕΧΩΣΜΕΝΑ ΕΞΕΚΑΛΥΨΕΝ" ("France, the gate of the Acropolis the walls of the tower and the ascending road (that were until then) buried, unearthed"), referring to the french excavations by Charles Beulé (ca. 1853).
