English: The Commander in Chief Western Approaches Admiral Sir Max K. Horton, with his naval officers. Behind the Atlantic Battle. 10 June 1945, on the steps of Liverpool Cathedral. Officer of Western approaches command who for 5 1/2 years planned the successful war against the u-boat in the Battle of Atlantic on the sea and from the air. Front row, Grace Laughton Bell.
